Economic development is the one of the most important issues. We have to make South Carolina a good place to own a business; that means reforming our tax code – beginning with eliminating the small business income tax – so it is flatter and fairer and no longer places so much of the burden on the small businesses that drive our economy. If the businesses in this state have cash flow and profit margins they will hire more people and our economy will grow, and it’s time we take the necessary steps to make that a reality. When elected I will fight to make SouthCarolinaa great place to own and run a business.

I believe in the conservative principle that Americans should be able to keep the money they earn. We pay taxes for the operations of government. It is my belief that taxes should only be collected by a system that is simple and fair, and that causes the least possible disruption to the productive economy. I will work towards a long-term solution to lower and flatten tax rates and reduce corporate income tax rate.
