Can’t let Government take advantage of tragedy in Colorado

Government never passes up an opportunity to take away rights

 My heart and prayers go out to the victims in the Colorado shooting and I pray God’s blessing be poured down upon them and their families. I also hope the full measure of justice will fall upon the shooter in this incident.

Having said this however, we must not allow a horrific event in Colorado and the presence of evil in our world give our government justification for taking more of our GOD-GIVEN rights.  There has always been evil in the world and always will be.

Even with terrorism, traveling by commercial airliner has always been proven to be the SAFEST way to travel. For decades now millions of people have boarded airplanes every single day to fly the friendly skies in the safest vehicle known to man and yet because of a few unfortunate and horrific terrorist attacks, we have handed over our personal freedoms to an incompetent federal agency called the TSA.

The TSA is the largest federal government agency. They are given billions of dollars a year to try to keep us safe. For some reason Americans have decided it is okay for an unknown TSA agent to grope us in a full pat-down or to be body scanned by x-ray and without warrants from a judge.

Your chance of dying on a domestic airliner is 1 in 60 million and if you fly internationally the chances are about 1 in 30 million. The ratio is about the same as getting hit by lightning and yet we have decided it is okay for a TSA agent to grope and x-ray us before boarding a plane. As you know, traveling by car is much more dangerous than traveling by airplane.  We would never place a police officer in every car to try to stop car accidents.  It would be too invasive and expensive and yet that is exactly what we have allowed in our airports with TSA agents.

Because of this senseless shooting in Colorado there is serious talk from the left about staging police at entrances of every Theater and Shopping Mall in America. Metals detectors might be installed and there is also the possibility that bags and purses would be checked.

This is a slippery slope and would negatively impact our rights and freedoms? Is this really something that Americans want? I sure don’t want this for me or my children and I am willing to take the risk that comes with continued freedom.

 Freedom has always carried risk and responsibility. Freedom is not free. There are risks involved in living free but in the end it is worth it.  Our founding fathers originally landed on Plymouth Rock without any Doctors, Hospitals, Healthcare, Policemen, Firemen, Military or government workers.  We must stand against further government intrusion by voting for those this November that will keep their oath of office to defend and uphold the constitution and our God-given rights even though there is risk involved.

 Liberals, Socialists and Communists believe that through government policies and regulation society can reach a utopian state where death, injury, pain and evil do not exist.  That world will never exist until the Lord comes again to this earth for the 2nd time and taking away God-given rights will not help to hasten that day.

President Obama has said that he needs one more term to get everything done on his radical agenda. He told the Russian Diplomat that his next term will give him much more flexibility. We cannot afford to give this President another term because he will fulfill that promise and America might never recover from his socialist policies. He would be sure to sign more gun control into regulation or law and this is not all. President Obama will be in full attack mode on most of our freedoms unless we vote him out of office on November 6, 2012.
