This is why the establishment cheated in making Romney as the GOP nominee. The first cheated at the polls in each individual state primaries and caucuses. Then, they cheated at each state convention and to top that off, they cheated at the RNC, ultimately placing their puppet as the nominee. I’d hate to say it, but Gary Johnson is the “lesser of three evils”, considering that he isn’t proposing free-market principles. Also, many of his proposals don’t pass the smell test. For one, according to his campaign website, he advocates for the Federal Reserve to keep a central role in our economy (libertarian strike # 1), though he claims to want to dissolve the IRS. As long as the Federal Reserve runs our economy, the government will have to tax us at gunpoint. The sole reason for the IRS after all, was the creation of the federal reserve. However, that’s not even all, as Gary Johnson supports government intervention in every aspect of the market (libertarian strike # 2). Then, to top that off, the only liberties he is advocating for, are a couple that he wants to legislate (strike # 3). You can’t legislate liberty. Social freedom cannot come as policy from government because it simply doesn’t work. That is what liberals have been trying to do for ages. Instead, social freedoms have to come as a consequence to economic freedoms. There is a huge reason that the Ron Paul campaign said that there was no chance in hell that they would endorse Johnson -and that’s because Johnson isn’t a libertarian and doesn’t advocate for Austrian economics. Let me be clear, the Ron Paul campaign didn’t just say “no” to a Johnson endorsement, they said that there wasn’t a chance in hell.
