Assault with a deadly weapon and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad media silence

On Saturday, a group called 40 Days for Life gathered at the Charleston Women’s Medical Center in support of life of the unborn.  Whether you agree with their view or not, you may at least agree that they have a right to gather in peaceful protest.

Someone in the group captured  video showing the driver of a car hitting one of their members.  The video is here.  Although one can argue that it doesn’t appear the driver was attempting to inflict mortal injury, a certain level of incivility, anger, perhaps even antisocial behavior was evident.  I wonder if the driver has a pattern of that sort of behavior.  We don’t know for certain the identity of the driver, but the group calls him “Larry”.

Funny enough, earlier in the rally, there was also some video taken of one of the workers at the clinic confronting a member of 40 Days for Life.  That video is here.  The man in the maroon vest doesn’t actually do anything beyond attempted intimidation, but what is interesting is that he is easily identifiable as Larry Carter Center.  Just take a look at Larry’s public Facebook page here.

Yes, the very same Larry Carter Center who ran for State House seat 114 on the Green Party ticket.  Larry was one of many candidates across the state who was thrown off the ballot for filing technicalities or he may possibly have been the Democratic challenger in the general election.

As it happens, Larry Carter Center has a history of exhibiting aggressive behavior towards right to life supporters, having been arrested for assaulting a nine year old girl outside the Charleston Women’s Center in 2009.  That’s right a nine year old girl.  You can view details here.  Interesting, too, that he ran for a state house seat and no one seemed to raise the issue of his character.

In the end, I have no idea who was actually driving the vehicle in the video, but here’s my question. Why haven’t I heard any media coverage of it?
