Homeland Security Comes Up With More Silliness

File this one under “Your Tax Dollars At Work”…..

The Department of Homeland (In-)Security, under the “leadership” of Janet Napolitano, has just produced a video describing how you, the average unarmed citizen, should react to an “active shooter”. (The video appears below, but allow me first to rant for a moment).

DHS’s suggested options are to retreat, seek cover, conceal yourself, abandon injured people and run away, call 911, all but kiss your butt good-bye. These instructions are necessary since we idiot public must ever be led by omniscient bureaucrats. (It’s a good thing that the young teacher at the Sandy Hook School hadn’t seen a film like this, or she wouldn’t have thought to shield her students with her own body, sacrificing her own life.)

As a last resort, before all innocents including you are dead, DHS suggests we should try to overpower the shooter, using scissors or other lethal office supplies. Heaven forbid any potential victim might be in possession of a firearm!  All schools and most places of business and government are, after all, ”gun free zones”.  For all but deranged shooters bent on killing as many as he can, that is.

Although this silliness is actually frightening, it’s right in line with the calculated whittling away of our freedoms by the beneficent federal government.  The film verifies the notion that all citizens are viewed as sheep who need to be led by the government, which always knows best.   The only way we can be saved is when the mighty armed government forces enter the scene with their guns, arriving only after people are already injured or dead.  When they do show up, you’d best keep your hands high in the air, or lie down with hands behind your head, so they don’t shoot you by mistake.

As if having gun free zones everywhere isn’t enough —- already an open invitation to nut jobs seeking to shoot innocent people —-  the left continue to push to disarm law abiding citizens, ultimately to ban  citizen gun ownership altogether. This cannot end well, folks.
