Joe Biden: A Dumb and Dangerous Gun Owner

A Thoroughly Dangerous Man

As the left tries to find more and more ways to violate our Constitutional rights, we have the Vice President of the United States offering advice to responsible gun owners, or those considering buying guns that is extraordinarily dangerous. For someone who is hell-bent on ending gun violence he recommends reckless gun handling that could easily get an innocent person killed or injured.

Responsible and safe gun owners abide by four rules for safe gun handling:

1. Always assume any gun is loaded
2. Never point a gun at anything you do not intend to destroy
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until sighted in on your intended target
4. Know what is in front and behind your target before firing

You will be safe unless two of these rules are violated. Joe Biden teaches his wife, and advocates that all Americans violate three of them as a way of defending your home.

“I said, `Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony … take that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,”‘ Biden said. “You don’t need an AR-15. It’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use and in fact, you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself.” — Joe Biden answering a question on Facebook Town Hall sponsored by Parents Magazine

Biden says he keeps two shotguns and shells locked up in his house, so I will assume he is following rule one and that his wife knows how to check the gun is unloaded when she unlocks it and then responsibly loads it. Here is where his ignorance sets in.

Rule 2 – Never Point a Gun at Anything You Do Not Intend to Destroy

“Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony … take that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house.” Pointed at what? Would she know? Does she point it at a neighbor’s house? Someone walking their dog? No, no, no… just fire it up in the air. If Joe Biden ever took a course in physics he would know that what goes up, must come down. Now, if he was firing two shots with an AR-15 into the air, there would only two bullets going up that had to come down. If Jill is firing a shotgun using buckshot, then there are a number of pellets that will fall like rain, greatly increasing the possibility that it will hit someone or something.

Rule 3 – Keep Your Finger off the Trigger until Sighted In on Your Intended Target

“..fire two blasts outside the house.” Why would her finger be on the trigger to fire at anything if she doesn’t have a target, ideally a dirtbag that is threatening to harm her?

Rule 4 – Know What is in Front and Behind Your Target before Firing

Since he coaches his wife to just fire outside the house, she has no idea if someone is walking in front of her gun, or behind her target. Bullets can penetrate a target and keep on going. This may be moot since she wouldn’t have a target, but the results could be devastating nonetheless.

Here is how a responsible gun owner with a concealed carry permit handles a weapon and stopped a killer at an Oregon mall. Notice during the video how his finger is straight and off the trigger has he holds it and what he does with regard to rule 4.

That is an example of a responsible, trained, concealed carry gun owner, not what Joe Biden is ignorantly advocating.

Dangerous and Damaging Advice

What Vice President Biden said was dangerous in that it advocates very unsafe gun handling, and damaging because he may be encouraging people who are concerned about their safety to go out and buy a shotgun and follow his dangerous advice. Do I now need to be concerned that my neighbor may buy a shotgun and if someone comes through their front door, they will not be shooting at the intruder, but shooting out the window in my direction.

Joe Biden should sell his shotguns before he kills some innocent bystander, rather than an intruder. He should get a recording of someone racking and firing a shotgun. He should keep that recording loaded on a high-end sound system, and if there is an intruder, play it in a loop as loud as he or his wife can. Call 911 and wait. After all isn’t that what Joe Biden’s gun is for, to scare an intruder away with noise? Well, then, give them noise and plenty of it, but don’t go shooting off balconies at nothing in particular. You are giving responsible gun owners a bad name.

America is embarked on a very dark, and dangerous passage over the next four years. The Constitution is under assault with attacks on Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, and the Right to Bear Arms. We are being told by our government we have to buy products we don’t want or pay a fine, or is it a tax?  We are spending money we don’t have and are gutting national defense which is the primary responsibility of the federal government to pay for a plethora of programs that are not. I pray America’s “low information” voters wake up and realize what is happening before it is too late.
