The Audacity of Ingratitude

America’s own Marie Antoinette is at it again, and just in time for the 4th of July.  In remarks this week, Michelle Obama compared living in the White House to living in a “really nice prison.”  This is keeping in the spirit of her remarks from earlier in her most recent vacation where she compared her own pampered childhood to children in Africa and claims that she now “serves” the people of the United States as First Lady.

Putting aside the questionable assertion that the First Mooch is a “lady” at all in her behavior, it should be pointed out immediately that Mrs. Obama does not “serve” anyone.  She rather has a royal attendance of servants which would make even the wealthiest foreign noblewomen blush, and she subsidizes this with the ever-growing national debt of the United States of America.

Mrs. Obama is a politician’s wife living a billionaire’s lifestyle on the dime of the taxpayers her husband is supposed to be working for.  Over the last four years, she has racked up an astounding number of vacations, often separate from her husband, and typically without even a veiled claim of diplomacy.  She returns to Washington D.C. only long enough to swap out her downhill skis and winter jackets for swimwear and sandals to hit the beach on her next romp, and occasionally to enjoy an exclusive black tie fundraiser with the Hollywood crowd.

That doesn’t sound like too rough a lifestyle for the average prison inmate.

Moochelle has one up on Barack in that she was actually in the United States during the Civil Rights Movement.  While Barry was across the ocean during his formative years, biding his time like Michael Corleone waiting for the right moment to return and profit from the sacrifices of those who came before him, Moochelle was nursing a seething hatred for America from the mainland.  Granted, she never personally suffered racial persecution or publicly fought for equality, but she heard about it somewhere, and that was enough for Mrs. Obama to develop an enormous chip on her shoulder where white people are concerned.

This may be in part why Moochelle famously claimed on the 2008 campaign trail that she was only then, for the first time ever, proud of her country when it was on the verge of electing her husband to the White House.  Yes, up until that moment she was entirely unappreciative of anything America had to offer.  And really, even after Barack was elected, Moochelle’s appreciation for the United States seems to extend only so far as what benefits it can grant her.

Moochelle also famously stated her socialistic views on the campaign that “someone needs to give up their piece of their pie so someone else can have more.”  We now know that the “someone” who had to give up their piece is the working taxpayer, and the “someone else” who would have more is Moochelle.  As the government blames sequester for a lack of funds keeping the White House closed to public tours, laying off workers, and now cancelling fireworks and Independence Day celebrations on military bases across the country, Michelle is still partying and vacationing as if money is no object.  Obviously, she has no interest in giving up anything.

In all fairness, however, Michelle does do a little to give back to society, if only in her own mind.  In the tradition of first ladies she has a pet project, and that project is dictating to the American people what we are and are not allowed to eat.  Like a bottom-heavy Michael Bloomberg, she has decided that it should be the power of the government to determine how much sugar and fatty foods the public is allowed to put into their mouths, because we are too stupid to figure it out for ourselves.  But unlike New York City’s diminutive little mayor, Moochelle is a clomping pile of hypocrisy on the subject.  Not only is her physique a living testament that she is not following her own prescribed diet, but the menus at her dinners regularly include the most fattening steaks and desserts known to man.

Mrs. Obama’s pet project was about as wisely chosen as Tipper Gore’s planned first lady agenda of aiding the mentally ill.

Meanwhile, Michelle has been known to shirk her duties as the president’s wife and recently snubbed China’s First Lady by refusing to meet with or entertain her.  This marks the first time an Obama has refused to accommodate the requests of someone inside the Chinese government, but was probably appreciated nonetheless, as China’s First Lady had to be at least someone fearful Mrs. Obama might take a bad step and squash her into paste.

Moochelle’s senseless and adoring fans may feel the conservative response to their queen’s suffering is terribly disrespectful, but we conservatives should point out that we tried to win her early release from her “prison” last year and she fought to stay in.  Apparently, she has tragically become acclimated to life on the inside and cannot cope with the prospect of freedom.  Certainly, she is incapable of dressing herself, as she regularly appears in public looking like all of her presentable clothes are in the wash.

With her sizable entourage, you would think at least one of her various hangers-on might be able to counsel her on matching her checkered tops to her polka dot skirts.  Instead, the same leftist mentality which gifted Barack with a preemptive Nobel Peace Prize seems dedicated toward propping up Michelle as a fashion icon.  Obviously, there is no accounting for some peoples’ tastes.

Among the numerous Obama administration scandals of the day (the Benghazi cover-up, the IRS targeting Tea Party groups, the NSA spying on Americans, to name just a few), the classlessness of our “First Lady” might seem a small thing to complain about, but her disrespect for this country and its citizens is indicative of the mindset in the White House.  Mrs. Obama is every bit as involved in guiding the president and his agenda as any of his cabinet members are, and her words and her actions are a reflection of Barack’s own policies.

Marie Antoinette was despised by her people for her rumored dismissal behind closed doors during hard times: “Let them eat cake.”  Moochelle Obama has publicly lived those words and is on film uttering “All this for a damn flag” to her husband as the American flag was raised in a solemn ceremony.  This Independence Day, her symbolic disrespect for our flag and our nation should serve to remind us all of how the Obamas regard America, its citizens, and its values.
