Winter is (Still) Coming

Nothing brings out the global warming crowd like a hot day in the middle of summer, and similarly nothing so irritates conservatives as when we are not even to the first day of winter and we have already had our fill of the frozen season.  All across the United States we have been dealing with snow storms, heavy snow accumulation, and frigid temperatures; and this activity is not limited to our own countries alone.  The amount of ice in the Arctic has been increasing rather than decreasing, and snow has just covered Egypt (which is normally a desert, for you Obama supporters) for the first time in a century.

Yet, the global warming alarmists are still sounding the alarm.

Many of today’s environmental extremists now shrug off nature’s own refutation of their pseudo-science by claiming that they sort of misspoke when they started labeling what was (supposedly) happening as “global warming.”  They now call it “climate change,” and claim that the things they always told us were the cause of a warming Earth—automobiles, toilet paper, industrialization and capitalism in general—are now the origin of whatever unfavorable weather patterns we might be experiencing at any given moment.  In other words, whether it is hot in the summer or cold in the winter, it’s probably George W. Bush’s fault, and we’re all racists if we argue otherwise.

Liberals have had no choice but to rebrand their junk science yet again, since the gradual rise of average temperatures leveled off in 1998 and global warming—man-made of otherwise—has effectively ceased to be.  I say “rebrand” and “yet again” because this is not the first time they have had to entirely redefine the description of their made-up crisis.  Back in the 1970s climate extremists on the left were trying to convince us that we were facing another ice age and we were doomed unless we renounced our evil ways (automobiles, toilet paper, industrialization and capitalism in general).  Then things started warming up for a few years and “global warming” was born.

Liberals tell us now that “global warming” didn’t necessarily mean that our problem was just that the Earth was getting warmer, but that ignores the fact that every claim they were making for decades rested on the belief that our weather was getting gradually warmer, not just warmer in some places and colder in others.  When they told us the polar icecaps would be melting and the oceans would boil, they really meant it . . . or at least they meant for us to believe it.

“Climate change” is a much more versatile description for such an unpredictable and occasionally uncooperative fictional situation.  The weather is always changing because that’s what weather does, but any time there is a day in July where it is even hotter than usual or a day in January where it is even colder than usual—or vice versa—or any time that a hurricane or a tornado or even a forest fire comes along, any liberal with a microphone can declare it is the result of “climate change.”

By this logic, we are supposed to ignore that unusual weather patterns have been with us since as long as the Earth has existed.  When we talk about the first snowfall in Egypt in 100 years, we can’t overlook that we’re admitting it snowed in Egypt 100 years ago.  What were we as humans doing 100 years ago that caused snow in the desert?  The same goes for any time we have record high or low temperatures, or, an island gets hit with a worse storm than it has seen in centuries.  If it has been a few centuries since a particular weather event was so extreme, then doesn’t that mean that there at one time already was an incident that extreme, and that it happened without the aid of automobiles, toilet paper, industrialization and capitalism in general?

Whether it’s global warming, cooling, or climate change, this “science” is being brought to us by people who often can’t even get their job right in telling us what is going to happen in the forecast a week from now with any certainty.  Why should we give them any credibility when they tell us what they think is going to happen a century or a few decades from now because we won’t all give up our automobiles and other civilized technology?

Most liberals—particularly those with any notoriety—refuse to even have any honest debate on this subject any more.  Al Gore, who is supposedly an expert on the subject, refuses to answer any unscripted questions because he does not want to be found groping for the answer to a question he did not know even existed.  Extremists like him have resorted to shutting down discussion by claiming that the matter is already settled, they are right, and so no one should even question them anymore, but instead just do as they say (and notably not as they themselves do).  So while Al Gore, Bono, and Prince Charles flit around the planet in their global jets, the rest of us should just shut up and ride our bicycles in the snow, because that’s science.

The left is always quick to point out that they have the bulk of environmental scientists on their side, but there are plenty of reasons for explaining why they do, and none of them are good.  Liberals manufacture these scientists in leftist universities and feed them off the same liberal doctrine with which they produce “truth-seeking journalists” who go on to work at places like MSNBC and CNN.  Furthermore, if you are in the business of studying weather patterns, then climate change is where the money is.  Everyone from Obama’s pal George Soros to England’s Prince Charles to the federal government itself is throwing money at anyone who might be able to grant legitimacy to their myth.  When you look at it that way, you almost can’t blame the scientific community for going along with them.  Personally, most of us would be willing to do everything we could to convince the populace that the Loch Ness Monster or the Easter Bunny existed if someone were willing to pay us a few million dollars to do so . . . and if we had no moral compass objecting to the selling of our souls.

Yes, there is good money to be made and fame to be found in global cooling/warming/climate change, if you are a horrible person.  Most notably, Al Gore won a Nobel Peace Prize and made the majority of his fortune by convincing a gullible population that the myth was real.  He never even had an answer for the supposed problem, other than that we should all give him our money and let the government dictate how we live our lives.

On that note, notice how everything the left tells us we must do in response to the lie of climate change conveniently gives them more power and takes things away from the rest of us.  Supposed “fixes” for the “crisis” range from tax penalties to giving up everyday modern conveniences like our transportation and our air conditioning.  And it is worth asking again: Where was air conditioning when Egypt had that heavy snowfall 100 years ago?

In truth, with all of the evidence our own basic senses show us, the only reason for why the myth of climate change is still even with us is because we have a population which has been indoctrinated with decades of propaganda and too dumbed-down to question otherwise.  We are literally told that it is the root of any bad thing that comes our way.  (Well, that or the Republicans.)

This phenomenon has gotten so bad that just this year CNN anchorwoman Deborah Feyerick asked in all seriousness whether increased meteorite activity might be the result of climate change.  The question might be laughable to those of us who are aware that meteorites originate from off-planet and in places where they do not yet have automobiles, toilet paper, or industrialization and capitalism in general, but just consider the mindset that must exist for the question to even pop into a person’s head!  And this isn’t some random, uneducated high school freshman; this is an anchorwoman for a major television news channel!

Okay, well, CNN, anyway . . .

The truth is that we could ask 100 different supposed “experts” on climate science and none of them could tell us with any accuracy what the average earthly temperature will be in 100 years.  They can’t tell us whether it will be warmer, whether it will be colder, or whether there will be more or less hurricane activity than what is going on right now.  The only thing they know for sure is that whatever unfavorable conditions are taking place are our fault, and the reason they know this is because it is politically advantageous for the Democrat Party.

Never expect the left to surrender on this issue, because they are too heavily invested in it and too much is at stake.  Expect them to rebrand it, expect them to twist their story into pretzels, and expect them to double down as they do on everything else.  Expect them to be hilariously wrong; just don’t expect them to admit it.
