Australian Steve Lee Likes guns. He wrote a song about it. Wanna hear it? Here it goes…

In a country where disarmament has begun, Steve Lee (Facebook) is a rising voice for gun freedom in Australia. He grew up in the outback of Australia where guns are a fact of life, much like the rural areas of Arizona.

“I never knew that people didn’t have guns when I was a kid, it just seemed like a normal, practical thing to have and shooting seemed like a normal, fun thing to do”

Steve comes from a musical family that produced several albums. He wrote I Like Guns originally to put on one of the latest effort of his family band, but realized that it would probably not be appropriate on an album with family songs.

The idea for a gun song album was born. So he went to his friend Bill Chamber to produced the album and was told, “I’ll do it, but no one else but you could get away with this.”

Bill now has two gun albums available on his web site: Everybody Likes Guns and I Like Guns. Albums from his family band are also available on his web site.

He is not a violent sort, but realizes that guns are necessary for security and freedom as he points out in the following video.

Unfortunately his speaking out has cost him as well. Steve’s media representative, Raechel Whitchurch, told us in an email:

Although Australia does have tough gun laws, we still have guns. … Steve has recently had a run in with the firearms registry and is persecuted by them because of his videos and pro gun stand. It is tough for him to speak his mind about gun rights as Australian’s have no gun rights but a so called “Privilege” given by the firearms registry. For any reason they see fit, they can deny or revoke any body’s license.

Steve is apparently experiencing what the Father of the Constitution, James Madison, warned about in 1787:

The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse.
