Thank You, Ted Cruz!

Ted Cruz is an amazing patriot. I’m not one to tout that he should be a presidential candidate in 2016.  Personally, I’d prefer  a person with proven executive experience. Like a state governor. But it’s hard to deny that he has a lot of followers (I being one). He has attracted a lot of media coverage, most of unkind and unflattering, since his filibuster in advance of the government shutdown last fall. And the media’s vicious attacks continue.  They can’t stand his calling out the left’s failed and failing policies, and their lawlessness and blatant hypocrisies. Take a look at this clip of his personal response just after Obama’s 2014 SOTU address.

With his comments I don’t think Cruz is just preaching to the choir, and not even at the “other side”. I think he’s trying to reach the uninformed but only mildly interested people, patriots that aren’t engaged in current political events, including young parents that don’t have time to read, watch, listen and understand that they and their kids are being screwed, and might, some day, awaken to see an America they don’t remember and can’t imagine.

Those of us that are awake have already seen the handwriting. The media fear Cruz, I think, more than any other conservative politician, and try to bash and entrap him at every turn; he is their worst nightmare because he has balls and calls progressives out for the people they are: anti-Constitution, make-up-rules-as-they-go, anti-capitalism, wealth redistributionists, statists. And, he is not afraid to associate himself with the tea party movement.  They go nuts over this. This association alone might dooms him from reaching higher office, if the media have anything to say about it. Too bad.

But to his credit, Cruz cheerfully takes on the hostile media. He isn’t hateful, or loud, or intimidated. Recently the always smirking leftist “journalist” Bob Schieffer of CBS interviewed Cruz and edited out a key part of his interview that was not aired. The uncensored version is below I credit Cruz with refusing to be bullied by Schieffer, but eventually he was unceremoniously cut off — the power of the controlling the microphone always triumphs. Schieffer was made to look the fool he really is.

Cruz has infinitely more backbone and testosterone than any of the squish “leaders” that head the RNC and head the R’s in the House and Senate. The R quislings at the top in Congress are selling us out, if not sold us out already.  They are falling into the progressives’ hands by pushing immigration reform now, instead of relentlessly hanging Obamacare on the necks of every D, instead of forming a House select committee to find the truth about Benghazi, instead of pursuing IRS scandal, and on and on.

I’ve written strong but respectful letters to Boehner, McConnell, called their offices (without any response whatsoever) and I’ve seen no evidence that they’ll do anything to act like they have some brass. No matter what happens in the ’14 elections, I fear that Boehner and McConnell will remain in place, even if the Senate flips to the majority (unless he’s beaten in his KY primary, which I doubt); no one has the balls to mount a campaign to unseat them because they know that they are vindictive people. If challengers lose, they will be politically punished. Just ask Reps. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan., Justin Amash, R-Mich., Walter Jones, R-N.C., and David Schweikert, R-Ariz. So Cruz may not be the “Ghengis Khan” or “Alexander the Great” conservative I’m looking for, but I know of no other person right now that rivals his grasp of the issues, of all of the poisonous policies and actions the progressives have put in place, with the ability to cheerfully and clearly articulate alternatives, and the nuts to speak up and do everything in his power (having none in a formal leadership capacity) to do something about it. Sadly, too many of the R’s, especially the leaders, have a reputation of going along to get along. More Caspar Milquetoast than Ghengis or Alexander

If our country is to survive as a democratic republic, it is my opinion that progressives must be devastated, beaten, trashed, annihilated, buried (all figuratively speaking, of course) at every opportunity, but especially in 2014. But like the “bad” Terminator in Terminator 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vCLeV7PfJs ), progressives (with the help of their compliant media) will never go away; fragments — an arm, leg, torso as in the movie —- will try to rise from the ashes and have to be crushed again and again.

All Democrats these days are progressives, but not all progressives are Democrats.  There are many Republicans that vote with Obama and the Democrats and they need to go. The old Blue Dog democrats, decent patriotic men like Erskine Bowles, Zell Miller and the like are gone forever, replaced by the race baiters, haters, demagogues and outright liars like Obama, Reid, Schumer, H. Clinton, and the rest.  They are no longer “the loyal opposition”, they are the enemy of America.  And more conservatives need to start believing this and behaving like it.  Ted Cruz does. And we can never rest and let down our guard, even when we win because as in Terminator 3, the progressives will keep getting up and crawling after us.

I’ll be opening my wallet across the country to support some of the rising conservatives (House, Senate, Governor candidates) that have stepped up to take on these progressive people. There are key races in NV, NC, VA, WI, CA, KY, and elsewhere. Please look beyond SC races and find out about these conservative candidates.

I won’t worry about ’16 until ’14 is over, and the pundits can talk about it all they want to, and we ought to ignore them. Let’s not let ourselves be distracted, even though leaders are behaving as thought that’s what they want. If we don’t hold the House and take the Senate in ’14, then we are screwed, period. I think ‘14 is our last chance to stop Obama, and to prosecute the perps in this administration to the fullest, including impeaching and convicting the guy at the top.

Winning is everything. Voting is everything. Failing a major R victory in ‘14, I have to agree that we have already lost America, and the election in ’16 will just be a footnote, no matter who wins. Thank you Ted Cruz for continuing to rally conservatives to this cause!
