Waiting on H. 3101

We’ve waited… and we’ve waited… and looks like we’ll just have to wait some more.

Last year we waited the entire session for H. 3101, the nullification of Obamacare to make it through the House and with literally only hours left on the clock to be able to pass it out to the Senate, we finally got it. We then waited the rest of the session for the Senate and nothing…

We waited the remainder of 2013, looking forward to the 2014 session as it should be up early on the Senate calendar… and now, several weeks into the session the majority of the Senate has made it clear we will just have to wait some more.

The Senate was only in session about an hour today before a motion was made to adjourn.  State Senator Lee Bright stood up and called the body out for doing what it does best, kick the can down the road, running out the clock, so things just don’t happen that need to (he said it much better than I’m saying it here).  Why was Bright making this point?  Just a few minutes earlier, Senator Shane Martin attempted to push for H. 3101 but only received support from the following senators:

Karl Allen
Lee Bright
Kevin Bryant
Raymond Cleary
Tom Corbin
Larry Grooms
Gerald Malloy

You may be wondering where Tom Davis is, since he is the one spearheading this in the Senate.  Davis voiced regret he could not vote with the other eight, but he is “waiting” on some agencies to get back with him.  Now we are NOT trying to beat up on Tom Davis and we are certainly willing to take the senator at his word, but can we really afford to wait any longer?  We would like to urge Senator Davis to share with us exactly who we need to call, write, email, etc, to get things moving today.

This IS the number one issue in our state right now and we have all waited enough.
