High School Student “Not Welcome” At School After Flying The Gadsden Flag

Don’t Tread On Me!!!

The Gadsden flag has a very long and rich history in this country.

Depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike and the words “Dont tread on me,” the flag is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden.  Gadsden designed the flag in 1775 during the American revolution.  It was also used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag.

The flag has long stood for freedom, independence and self reliance, but none of that matters to Jodie Diers, the principal of Central High School.

According to the Examiner:

Greg Stoneburner, a senior who just graduated from Central High School in Grand Junction, Colo., said he was told in no uncertain terms that he was no longer welcome at the school after raising a Gadsden flag on the school’s flagpole. Moreover, he told Examiner.com in an exclusive interview Friday, the principal withheld his flag and his diploma until after his graduation walk.

The incident, he said on Facebook, took place on May 9. That’s when he replaced the school’s flag with the yellow “Don’t Tread On Me” banner often associated with the Tea Party as a senior prank. He also posted a paper to the pole that told the history of the flag.

The prank didn’t sit too well with Jodie Diers, the principal of Central High School, who was livid over the prank. Other students, Stoneburner told Examiner, claimed she was angrily yelling to have the flag pulled down when she first saw it. According to Stoneburner, she pulled him out of a scholarship breakfast and told him and his parents the flag was a “slap in the face” to the school. She then said he was “not welcome” at Central High.

“She also confiscated my flag,” he wrote, even though she admitted he had not violated any law or school policy. Her reasoning, Stoneburner said, was that anything on the pole was school property.

“So my property was confiscated without due process,” he added. “I was denied access to a public institution because the principal didn’t like what I did.”

Congratulations young man. It sounds like your flag prank ferreted out a little closet liberal communist. Good job!
When this little incident is raised during a job interview you’ll know really quickly who or what company you want to work for and which of those you don’t.
The principal, by her outrageous overreaction has made herself look like a fool. Also, since this story has made it to the online media, the principal will be very lucky if she is able to keep her job. You’ve got to know that the calls, e-mails and letters demanding that her job be terminated have to be pouring in from all over the country.
One thing about a liberal is that it is usually very easy to flush them out. One little incident like this and they go berserk just long enough to show exactly how nuts they are. Then they immediately go into damage control mode in an attempt to justify their insane behavior. But regardless, unless she is to be judged by other liberals (and there is a very good chance of that) she will most likely be fired or demoted. And even if she is judged by other liberals she still may get the proverbial axe. Not for removing the flag, but for revealing just how mentally unstable she and liberals in general are. She lost control of her unstable emotions, which is the core of liberal thinking, and therefore made all her fellow liberals look bad. If they can justify and proudly support and commit abortions (killing viable living human beings) then they certainly have no problems eating one of their own.

I Salute you young man. Traitors always show their true color. The principal needs to be tared and feathered and run out of town…………..

I spoke to people involved in this incident and it was handled appropriately by the principal. He was asked to go home after the incident, but seniors at Central High had already been dismissed and he really should not have been on campus at that time.

No punitive action was taken. He walked with his graduating class and received his diploma without contest.

It was a prank, and a harmless prank, but his timing was off and he should have not allowed the prank to become a distraction.

I have been a teacher in this district for many years and they are very deliberative about most things where the First Amendment rights of students are a consideration. There is no infringement of rights.

Trust me. I’m a Tea Party warrior and contributor to this site. If you want to see how committed I am to the Constitution and individual liberty, please visit my personal website, reagangirl.com
