How You Can Stop Hanover’s ‘Blame America’ School Indoctrination

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It is time to write a letter or make some phone calls.

The far left elements are mobilizing to allow the anti-American Blame America crowd to continue teaching our kids in Hanover that America is evil and deserved to be hit on 9/11. If you have not read the story please click this link to find out what happened in Hanover classrooms on 9/10.

As of this moment 11,675 people have read the post and the vast majority are outraged that our schools are teaching kids to sympathize with the terrorists who brought us 9/11 and the beheadings we see with regularity now. And there was no mention whatsoever of the atrocities committed by these America Haters (the ones in the Middle East). For all the kids learned on 9/10, America simply loves to kill Arabs for no reason.

America’s point of view was censored by Hanover Schools.

Now this is not new. It is the practice these days to teach only one side – the Liberal side – of their hot button issues.

Global Warming is hammered into the kids’ heads with little or no information that counters the climate zealots – like there has been no warming for 18 years.

Abortion and Homosexuality are pushed and the majority Christian point of view is forbidden.

It has become commonplace to put the liberal agenda above educating our kids and the drop in test scores in Hanover show that.

Key Points

Children should have a different perspective:
The perspective of terrorists is that America is the cause for the hatred that is used to justify why terrorists kill the innocent.
This film is not a historical documentary
Why not share the American perspective?
This film is an attempt to show that Americans deserved to be punished.
This film is not a resource for Middle Easter Studies
For those who hold the opinion that America is somehow responsible or deserved these attacks are not people who simply share a different perspective.  In reality, this thought process is to say that facts mean nothing and there are only perspectives.
Superintendent feels that this is a matter of compare and contrast — there was no compare and no contrast
The people’s elected representation should stay out of education:
Why do parents have to stay out of their children’s education?  (parents often call Board of Supervisor members on school matters)
False information and political bias cannot be passed off to our children as education.
Elected representatives hear from constituents on issues dealing with many County departments on a regular basis.  The schools should not be without accountability to the citizens.
Censorship:
Only one perspective was given — this is censorship through exclusion
The film is not simply a resource for Middle Eastern Studies
Logic:
This “different perspective” theory is skewed logic.
Apply this thinking to a situation where an innocent victim or a victim’s family should take pause to hear the perspective of the one who perpetrated evil upon the victim.
Example analogy based on the film:  On the anniversary of an innocent’s victim’s murder the victim’s family should hear why the murder’s hatred for the victim was a reason to kill.  Furthermore, the murder believes the victim is the cause for the murderer’s hatred and the victim deserved to be killed.

The above example is the position of terrorists
Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the above contacts:
Dear Supervisor / School Board Member:

On 9/10/2014 of this year a controversial video by Thomas Friedman, “The Roots of 9/11″ was shown in Hanover Schools. This video gives the feelings and point of view of a number of people living in the Middle East. And while most prefaced their statements with “I don’t agree with hurting innocent people, but…” and each person interviewed went on to say why the events of 9/11 were a good and necessary thing.

The objection I have, as well as most people I have spoken with on this topic is not so much the content of video itself, although that was very disturbing. But the schools failed to give any point of view other than the Middle Easterners. And watching the video without a balanced presentation from an opposing point of view (like America’s) leaves these young impressionable minds with the impression that America has been killing Arabs for decades without reason or provocation.

In her response before the Hanover Board of Supervisors last week Dr. Wilson, the Superintendent of Hanover Schools attempted to justify the showing of this video by claiming they try to present “both” sides. But the problem was, only the Arab “side” was presented. And absent the teaching of both sides simultaneously, the impression is given that America kills without justification.

This is not about Islam and it is certainly not about censorship as some defenders of the video have claimed. In fact, the school effectively censored the American Viewpoint by only presenting the Arab perspective. And what the children learned from this video is that there was no provocation, no aggression, no killings and no atrocities committed by the Arabs, only by America.

I am a Veteran and understand the value and necessity of understanding what the enemy thinks. But this video was not presented in the context of learning what the enemy thinks. And the way it was presented instead nudges the children to sympathize with people who have vowed to kill us.

We need a clear delineation between the enemy who wants to kill us and the American point of view if we are to teach the children what the enemy thinks – or what they are taught to believe. And if we can’t teach things like this without censoring and ignoring the American point of view, then the schools should just stick to the three “R’s”.
