Report: Reject AP U.S. History (APUSH) Framework and Exam

The Federal Education Bureaucracy  is trying to dumb down students in regards to American History.

The newly revised AP (advanced placement) U.S. History exam is to be taken by America’s top students in May 2015. The framework (curriculum) and exam have been revised by the College Board, a private company making millions, now headed by David Coleman, known as the architect of Common Core.

Oligarchy, while making a pretense at democracy is really rule by a privileged group who simply rely upon public obedience and acceptance of their ideas because of their perceived “privilege”.

Since becoming president and CEO, Coleman has worked to align SAT, ACT, GED and now APUSH with Common Core. The push for upgrading state standards by adopting a common core of internationally benchmarked standards in math and language arts for grades K-12 began in 2006 when then Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano was chair of National Governors Association.

In the spring of 2009, Coleman’s firm was hired to create what is now called Common Core. It is saturated with leftist propaganda. Initially 45 states agreed to accept Common Core standards and tests due to accepting federal money for Obama’s Race to The Top grant program, Title I funding and No Child Left Behind waivers. Without engaging citizens or legislators in the decision, education authority was ceded to Washington, D.C.

Common Core is NOT in pursuit of excellence. It is the opposite.

The framework and exam turn U.S. History into one long litany of the villainy of “white superiority.” It deletes traditional teaching about the Pilgrims, Founding Fathers, military history (including battles, commanders, Presidents and heroes) of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI and WWII. To succeed on the exam, students will be taught a negative view of American history, which emphasizes every problem and failing of our ancestors, while ignoring or minimizing their achievements.

Reality: The constitutional authority for education rests with states, localities and ultimately with parents.

However, the power track of inevitability pushes the state, localities, and parents to forget that fixed principle according to the Rule of Law and accept the oligarchy’s initiative of educational relativism of meaninglessness.

The redesigned APUSH framework and exam, aligned with Common Core, surrenders state and local control of content taught in local schools. Thus, Coleman and his unelected College Board have become the de facto legislature and board of education for every state, even states like Texas, that did not sign on to Common Core. Students in public and private schools and those who are homeschooled will need to be taught the radical framework to be successful on the exam. Once students have been taught information, it is very difficult to “reteach” their minds.

The new AP exam is in a vault ready to be given in May.

Teachers have been revising lesson plans to teach the new framework. It looks like the radicals have won for now. Students will be receiving instruction to ensure they pass the test. It seems the best we can do for these students is to ask school boards and superintendents to have teachers provide as much traditional history as possible as a balance.

What can we do?

We must fight the radical revision of U.S. history by demanding that our state representatives and senators in the next legislative session beginning in 2015 stop the Common Core framework and exam presently dominating the education of our Texas students.
