CNN anchor Costello laughs at woman being beaten

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

  Wow.
  This is pretty incredible video.
Carol Costello at CNN thinks it’s really really funny to play audio of Bristol Palin’s account of being assaulted.
She finds it delicious dish to play audio of a sobbing young woman who is recounting her ordeal, finishing the segment with a smug “you can thank me later” for playing this clip, which she describes as “quite possible the best minute and a half of audio we’ve ever come across.”
I don’t know what to say after watching this, other than wow.
  This isn’t even prejudice anymore.
It’s vicious, mind blowing, full blown hate on display, most remarkably from a woman who expects to make her career in “journalism,” which admittedly isn’t anymore.
It’s pretty hard to believe these are the same people piously pursing their lips and pretending that the Republicans have a “war on women” while laughing at and ignoring violence against women, both in the US and abroad in Muslim states.
  Washington Examiner has commentary.
I just don’t want to hear another word about violence against women.
  I also want Costello fired.
Meanwhile I’ll wait for her to laugh at the next funny thing, like a disembowelment or the murder of thousands of Iraqi Christians.
  Yeah, that’s the ticket.
  Shocking but, sadly, not surprising.

cia operatives ought to be more professional than that, but that’s what happens when you sell your soul. you have no sense as to what is human anymore.

Any one know why video’s on this site won’t display?

    • Jiliane

      Compassion is not mainstream

    • CrowPie

I heard this when it aired on CNN and this has been edited, ALOT. First of all….Where is the part where Bristol say her little sister is twenty years old (three times) ….then she slips and say, ” she’s fourteee .”

And also, why would Bristol leave her five year old alone in the Limo…..to go pick a fight with the (what Bristol called) a “gray-haired old lady?”

And just what kind of real threat could a ‘gray-haired old lady’ be to a “twenty/fourtee’ year old?

And since this report was given to a police officer “on the scene” ……..don’t you think she could have used better language?

      • CrowPie

BTW……..Bristol was being dragged away from the “gray-haired old lady’ by the man she is accusing of treating her badly.

(Maybe that’s why no charges were filed…..with her missing shoes, $300 sun glasses, and her thong dress flying up and all……..)

        • Tea Party at Perrysburg

I didn’t edit the video at all. This is a Costello feat, CrowPie. She must own her bias. As I said, I am not making a comment about any of the Palins other than to point out that Costello’s comments were brutal, as indicated by her (not verbal) off air apology. An apology for this behavior is unacceptable; her job as a “journalist” has been compromised by her snide, contemptuous gloating of another human being’s **woman’s** pain.

Putting her 5 year old in the car next to her is not endangering him. She was upset; for you to criticize (in THIS culture) her foul language is remarkably unfeeling. Personally I don’t care much for the young lady; your personal bias is showing.

Since you are left leaning, admit it and move on. Just remember that you AREN’T a compassionate human being when it comes to others who do not fit into your leftist mold.

        • CrowPie

Oh yes you did edit the video…you edited the ‘SAM HILL” out of it…….and the unedited video is very incriminating of Bristol.

Your edited version……is very incriminating of you……and maybe even the intentions of the party you represent.

      • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Who cares? This story isn’t about the details of Bristol Palin’s account.

It’s about a so-called “news anchor’s” choice to mock a young lady’s account of being attacked. Your comments indicate the same lack of humanity Costello displays. At least you’re only a partisan commentator on a blog post. SHE’S supposed to be a journalist.

The fact that (you and) Costello find this call suspicious/amusing reveals much: let’s face the fact that because it’s a Palin–a Republican woman–it’s okay to say and do just about anything to her.

Now THIS is a REAL war on women.

        • CrowPie

It’s more about the fact that you edited the video that make it look like Bristol was little Miss innocent instead of the instigator of the incident, who had to be hauled off an elderly woman.

Bristols abusive language alone, and the fact that she left her defenseless five year old tells you a great deal about her personality. Not to mention that two healthy young adults (who had been admittedly drinking) were bucking up to a senior citizen, and had to be physically removed from the area.

The fact that she was embarrassed…..Well, lesson learned.

        • CrowPie

Maybe you should go to CNNs website and get the FULL video and post THAT!

        • Damien

You’re wasting your time with ‘Getting ma Obamaphone’ Tea Party. It’s tribal.

        • Three69ingSquirrels

What do you expect from a tea bagger, Crowpie? These people live in a bubble.

        • CrowPie

I don’t expect anything Else Three69ing. Teabaggers primary objective is to PROTECT the ELITE. NOT the little old ‘gray haired ladies.”

    • Damien

      Corporate Only Media America (C.O.M.A.)

      • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Damien, I’m not wasting my time. “Tea Party” does not necessarily mean an organized party, though many people have organized.

The tribal comment I would agree, not in a racist way, but in the context that people do tend to move in schools. Unfortunately we have developed as a culture in not believing in personal responsibility.

Tea Partiers generally believe we should not burden our children with unpayable debt, as we already have.

Tea Partiers believe we should help those who need help but not enable those who refuse to take responsibility.

Tea Partiers believe the Constitution still applies as it was written by men who knew human nature’s tendency to want to control the lives of others.

Tea Partiers in general (I’m sure there may be some) do not think in terms of color of skin. Dependency, yes. More dependence on government can only lead to heartache, confusion and control of our lives.

        • Damien

I was just remembering how Crow Pie is proud of being part native American (not many Republicraps there regardless of faith). The Obamaphone was just a dig at her being conservative except in health services (which I am too – the health service being ‘free’ and far cheaper in real terms than America just like it is everywhere else on the planet).

I loathe the state and individualism as the one option. Think that is is core communism. Everything important comes from groups in between – special interest groups or schools. Think that the lack of them is what isolates people under the corporate rule … until there is a never ever global revolution.

        • Damien

The national health service being ‘free’ and far cheaper in real terms in the UK where I am

I see no important difference between either mainstream party – even Obamacare is actually corporation Republicare – other than the tendency of Dimbocraps to be mugged into great noble cause wars. Their most important difference being the opposition to wars that they seem to always better provide when NOT being corrupted by power.

          Progressive America

          Lincoln – civil war, conscription

          Wilson – WWI, conscription

          FDR – WWII, conscription

          Truman – Korea, conscription

          JFK – Vietnam, conscription

          Johnson – Vitnam +, conscription

Carter – thrown out for getting no where with Iran

Clinton – no one to fight after fall of soviet union

Even Teddy Roosevelts progressive party split the conservative vote and let Wilson and WWI and the FED in. And TR WANTED conscription in the Spanish American war

        • Three69ingSquirrels

You can’t say that tea pagers do not think in terms of colt of skin and say that they believe in the constitution as it was written. You know, with that “black people are considered 3/5 of a white person” thing.

          Another RWNJ hypocrite.

    • Tea Party at Perrysburg

I also want to add in NO WAY would I condone violence against ANYONE, including Costello, unlike the poster Templar. That’s kind of the point of this blog post.

      • CrowPie

Then Why did you blatantly ignore the fact that Bristol left the limo …….to go pick a fight with an elderly ‘gray haired old lady?”

You see…….that is what you conveniently leave out of this article….what is conveniently edited from this video ( as opposed to Carol Costellos video) and is also why Bristol was physical removed from the area……and the whined……and called it an assault…….when it was really……an ejection due to drunken behavior.

        • Tea Party at Perrysburg

CrowPie, the video was from the Washington Examiner’s website. I had nothing to do with editing it.

That said, wow. Again, the point of this post, which you “conveniently” ignore.

Haters gotta hate. Costello and you. Haters gotta hate. You have my pity

        • Tea Party at Perrysburg

        • CrowPie

Well then…take my advise…..and go look at CNNs web site……and their copy……and then see who the hater is….

          WOW…just…..WOW

    • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Actually, Damien, not everything you say is true but Republicans, YES! are equally corrupt, just waiting their turn to run our lives (maybe less than) but exactly the way Democrats do.

There ARE times when we need to fight. Islamism is a pretty scary corrupt organization that will try to denigrate ALL our cultures to bow to theirs.

I’ve heard that the NHS is fine if all you have is a broken bone but if you’re really sick, you’re screwed, plus the NHS wants to control your life as far as smoking, eating, etc. I’m not a big fan of getting fat or black lungs from smoking, but I object to the government telling me what to do and holding health care over my head if I don’t do what they want. Even now, our hospitals are demanding their employees submit to BMI checks. Have you SEEN the weights of most hospital nurses? Yikes.

I don’t think Lincoln was a progressive. He was right. And FYI, if you want to know what I generally think about just about anything, listen to the guys’ podcasts on Red Eye Radio. They’re pretty much right on everything. Just about, anyway.

      They embody American spirit. http://www.redeyeradioshow.com/

      • Damien

The ‘problem’ with the NHS is that the doctors will look at you and ask you not to get black lungs. And then pay (personally) for your comfort as you painfully die.

        • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Yes, that’s called palliative care. Obamacare is instituting it over here, as suggested by the people who are enthralled with the way the NHS works.

          We will fight it.

    • Tea Party at Perrysburg

      Three69ingSquirrels:

As I said to CrowPie, haters gotta hate. You obviously know little of the reality of the world around you.

      • CrowPie

You live in a bubble…..and speak of another being ignorant of the world…..you refuse to look at copy of an unedited video……and then speak of living in reality?

Your cult trained you well…..”Do NOT LISTEN to ANYONE BUT THE APPROVED SOURCES”

Warren Jeffs told all the little girls the raped the same thing.

      • Three69ingSquirrels

People like you are the reason that everything seems to be going to s*it. You are not patriots, you are terrorists, plain and simple. You have no idea what the constitution is, you only have a version of it that no one has ever seen.

If ever the government turns on the people, it will be because of your kind, and I would understand.

        • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Sigh. See, it’s kind of fun to argue with people who really believe in something, people who can intelligently articulate a reasonable argument with another person of equal passion. You, not so much.

You people are drones, spewing seminar hate and irrational thought. I, otoh, read, study and discuss with people who try to view the world as it is.

Terrorists? Ha. Most of the people who think the way I do are elderly, retired folks who want to leave a better world for their grandkids.

What do you want to leave the world? I’m afraid, sadly, your side is winning. Hate. It springs from within and is fed from without.

        • Three69ingSquirrels

If you really wanted a better world for your grand kids, you should of thought about that when you were in the 80s, where you probably were a Reagan voter and encouraged all the deregulations and anti environment legislation.

Don’t try to give anyone lessons about wanting a better world, when you and your ilk have done nothing to encourage that.

Go back to your teabagger friends to continue and destroying what was once a great country, and hopefully when you and your elderly friends go the natural route of extinction, this country can start building back up with a new generation.

        • neanderthal

If ever the government turns on the people, it will be because of your kind, and I would understand.

I think that is what King George said and may I suggest you move your ass back to England.

        • CrowPie

Don’t talk to me about “the elderly and leaving a better place for kids”….when you just posted a video…..that was edited to put a drunken, entitled, abusive of the elderly, belligerent in a better light…..in order to push your agenda.

    • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Three69ingSquirrels, I’m interested in what you think makes good governing. Please tell me specifically what you disagree with me about and what you would do specifically to make things better. This is a serious question.

      • Three69ingSquirrels

        Sure.

1- I agree with less government, but less government involvement in certain places such as healthcare and infrastructures means more private company involvement. If you think government doesn’t care, you’re in for a treat with companies being in charge of such vital things.

2- It will be damn hard to have a political movement that espouses everyone’s views. In that aspect, there will always be divisions. If you look closely, religious beliefs seem to be at the heart of most of those divisions. By taking those religious beliefs and separating them from politics (from politics only, not from day to day life. Religion is part of the freedoms we enjoy). You want less government, well keep the government out of people’s personal lives. They can answer to god for their mistakes, and no one else. A civil political discourse in which the majority votes on what needs to be done can only work if there is no bias in what is voted on. As well, the majority is not always right, so having opposition in a civil way can lead to discussion and compromise, and hopefully something that can make everyone satisfied at the least.

I believe there is an adequate balance when it comes to what a government should oversee, and what it shouldn’t.

I don’t have any magical answer that can fix anything, but all I know is that all type of extremism is dangerous, and pulling stunts such as shutting down the government is equal to a petulant child throwing a tantrum because he doesn’t get dessert.

        • Tea Party at Perrysburg

Well, we’ll get nowhere if we start blaming for the government shutdown. I suspect you get your information from a primary biased source, which is the original purpose of this post. Before you yell (joke) about MY sources, could we just agree to disagree or at least agree that pretty much all the media today have pretty openly professed fealty to one side or another?

Yes, for less government, but I disagree with you that we either don’t have enough regulation or the regulation we have now is at an “adequate balance.” I might ask you if Bush were in charge, would you approve of censoring the internet?

Of seizing small businesses’ cash because it doesn’t meet the IRS $10,000 red alert? Of the IRS punishing people who disagree with government politics? Of running guns to Mexico, resulting in numerous Mexican deaths and the death of border agents? Of unlimited undocumented persons carrying illnesses in the country, already infecting thousands of Americans and swamping the schools?

I just think you are being lulled (as many conservatives were during the Bush era) into accepting many infringements on our rights and when the pendulum swings back, you won’t be happy.

AS to the religion issue. Yes, you are undoubtedly correct that people have always used religion as a political bludgeon. It’s despicable and not at all “Christian” (my faith). That does not mean we have to abandon all traditional Judeo Christian/ Western Civ principles.

And if we think it is MURDER to abort an unborn child, it’s one thing for others to commit this crime but to ask religious folks who believe it is MURDER to pay for it is wrong, wrong, wrong. And if you get angry at Christianity and yell at me for believing abortion is wrong, you need to ask yourself if you would respond the same way if I were Muslim. There’s your religious persecution, as we watch thousands of Christians being enslaved and murdered around the world. Believe me. If anybody knows the hazards of being a Christian nowadays, these people do.

To be honest, it’s not that easy being a Christian in THIS country these days. The mockery, ridicule, derision and contempt has grown exponentially with the persecution around the world.

So, there we go. A civilized discussion. I appreciate your time and fervor. Your beliefs are strongly held and I respect that. We don’t all have to think alike.
