‘Clinton Cash’: They’re not dead broke anymore

Cinco de Mayo will be no fiesta for Bill and Hillary Clinton. That’s the release date of “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich.”

An Examiner.com preview of Peter Schweizer’s new book, hitting the shelves Tuesday, reveals how a power couple has morphed “charity” into self-enrichment on a global scale.

Funneling millions of dollars in foreign contributions, the Clinton Foundation functions as a middleman for charitable initiatives, while providing a platform for Bill and Hill to pocket millions more for speeches heard around the world.

“The Clinton Foundation is not your traditional charity,” writes Schweizer. “A traditional charity doesn’t have a globe-trotting ex-president, an ex-secretary of state and their daughter running the show. But for all the benefits that derive from such star power, the real problem is delineating where the Clinton political machine and money-making ventures end and where their charity begins.”

If the Clintons’ charitable ventures yield paltry results – as Schweizer concludes – the money flowing through the Clinton Foundation is far from pristine. The author lists dictators and despots who are cozy with the Clintons.

Bill Clinton’s “relief” efforts Haiti – much touted in the mainstream media – are a case study in “disaster capitalism.”
