You have daughters. Sisters. Wives. Is the lesson that Europe is currently learning re: refugees lost on you?

When will Spartanburg citizens stop listening to the “head in sand” proponents of bringing Middle East refugees to Spartanburg who are unvetted (according to Senator Jeff Sessions) and who have already brought havoc and chaos to Europe?  From Investor’s Business Daily, October 6, 2015:

Under grilling from GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions, head of the Senate subcommittee on immigration, the Homeland Security official in charge of vetting Syrian and other foreign Muslim refugees confessed that no police or intelligence databases exist to check the backgrounds of incoming refugees against criminal and terrorist records.

“Does Syria have any?” Sessions asked. “The government does not, no sir,” answered Matthew Emrich, associate director for fraud detection and national security at DHS’ U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Sessions further inquired: “You don’t have their criminal records, you don’t have the computer database that you can check?” Confessed Emrich: “In many countries the U.S. accepts refugees from, the country did not have extensive data holdings.”

Because the churches are leading the drumbeat in Spartanburg, many folks are hesitant to bring themselves to believe that what is happening could possibly be anything other than benevolence.  And institutions like Wofford College try their best to put out information on “good refugees” despite the videos and news reports we are seeing of the catastrophic results in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Britain.

Here’s a WSPA news story on a recent panel discussions held at Wofford to “educate the public on the real issue of refugee resettlement and dispel some false information some people see in the media or elsewhere.”  The problem is we have access to videos and tales of disaster already taking place in Europe who threw open their doors to refugees and their citizens are now struggling and suffering.

And quoted in the Wofford story is  Husein Kapasi, founder of Kapasi Glass, who had a little trouble some time ago – hiring an undercover Clinton police lieutenant for $5,000 to kill his son’s wife.

According to the Spartanburg Herald Journal reports at the time he was “upset that she worked outside the home, dressed in Western style clothes, and ate occasionally with men who were not family members.”

I can’t help thinking that just a few years from now, if the ostrich people prevail we’ll begin reading the stories in our community and seeing nightly new reports like the videos that are coming out of Europe about the problems occurring there.  Attacks on the street, engaging disruptively with law enforcement, businesses destroyed, insistence on Sharia law.  Unbelievably,  Germany has begun issuing warnings to grade school girls, ordering them to cover up and not wear shorts …

“The Syrian citizens are mainly Muslims and speak Arabic. The refugees are marked by their own culture. Because our school is directly next to where they are staying, modest clothing should be adhered to, in order to avoid discrepancies. Revealing tops or blouses, short shorts or miniskirts could lead to misunderstandings.”

These neighborhoods and schools in Germany are just like ours.  Or they were, until recently.
