Bernie Fans/Millennials: Join the R[LOVE]lution! NO not That One!

I must admit – I loved this headline from Breitbart:

SANDERS SUPPORTERS DISRUPT SPEAKER AFTER SPEAKER

I cracked a HUGE smile at that one.  I wish my supporters were disrupting the speakers at the Dem Convention.

But I was earlier this evening in prayer while doing walking laps at the gym and I realized something – maybe it was the Lord Jesus speaking to me – but there is a real revolution out there – not a political one but a spiritual one!

If you are a Bernie supporter or just a millennial concerned about your world AND want to do something to make the world better and a more just place, I have a simple answer:  Become a follower of Christ Jesus.  Make Him Lord and trust Him as Savior.  Live for Him.

The Bible is replete with revolutionary ideas (all verses are King James Version):

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”  (Galatians 3:28)

“Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”  (Acts 10: 34-35)

You can’t beat this for diversity:

“After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne…” and “…thou [Jesus] hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God, kings and priests,…”  (The first verse is Revelation 7:9 and the second is Revelation 5:9-10)

I could go on and on.  Looking for work that lasts?  Don’t settle for political reform!  Settle for eternal reform!  For helping to raise up a heart-holiness people who will care about poverty and injustice and unfairness and are eager to meet human needs.  You can still care about income inequality or injustice or climate change or world poverty or human trafficking.  Many of the abolitionists were led by the Bible to fight slavery.

The call is clear:

“All power is given unto me in heaven and earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.”  (Matthew 28:18-20)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  (John 3:16 – of course!)

But many have not read this:

“For God sent not his Son to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”  (John 3:17)

All can be a follower of Christ – just ask Him!  But the revolution I ask you to consider is a Love Revolution – that is why I used the term that was used by Ron Paul in his campaigns – lure you in to read more!  But we dare not trust in any human – not Bernie Sanders or Ron Paul or Donald Trump or any institution – the UN or a political party or even a church!  Instead trust in Jesus:

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”  (Acts 10:38)

Just to avoid confusion about Who Jesus is – He is fully God and man:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. * * * And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”  (John 1:1, 14)

So go out there and love people and show compassion and tell them about the Kingdom and eternal life!  (And if you do not know Jesus or follow Him, go HERE for how to do so!)
