“I’m With Hillary” Letter Published at Medium.com was Written by a Clinton Staffer

Medium.com claims to be “a community of readers and writers offering unique perspectives on ideas large and small.” Here are excerpts from one writer offering her perspectives on Hillary who was published on January 12 this year:

This week, President Obama announced that he’ll take new steps to take on gun violence in America – and not a moment too soon. Every day 88 Americans are shot and killed and hundreds more are injured with guns. We can’t go on like this.

My stepfather shot me when I was just a child 45 years ago and in the years since I’ve become an advocate for preventing both domestic abuse and gun violence. Tragically, those two things come together and end in tragedy with alarming regularity. In fact, 52 women are shot and killed every month by intimate partners.

Here is the part that might have been written by the author, one Clai Lasher:

My stepfather shot me when I was just a child 45 years ago and in the years since I’ve become an advocate for preventing both domestic abuse and gun violence.

Thanks to WikiLeaks, readers now know that the rest of the 802-word, three page article was actually written by a Clinton staffer, Ronald Klain, who crafted it and then asked others on the staff to see what they thought of his idea of publishing it at Medium.com to promote Clinton’s anti-gun agenda. His email said:

We thought it could make a strong Medium.com post from someone who could really speak to this issue (not HRC and not someone on our campaign).

Here’s the draft, which I edited and can personalize depending on who we want to use as an author. A survivor of gun violence? An advocate or family member?

If we can find someone, and if folks want, we could get this posted today to Medium.com in someone’s name (not us). Here it is, let me know your thoughts!

That Hillary has had the undying and uncritical support of the mainstream media is now a provable fact. An example was provided by Callum Borchers, writing in the Washington Post back in June when Clinton’s complete anti-gun agenda was on display with nary an objection expressed. Borchers gave Clinton all the space she needed in responding to a softball question about her alleged support for the Second Amendment:

CLINTON: I think that for most of our history there was a nuanced reading of the Second Amendment until the decision by the late Justice [Antonin] Scalia. And there was no argument until then that localities and states and the federal government had a right – as we do with every amendment – to impose reasonable regulations.

So I believe we can have common-sense gun-safety measures consistent with the Second Amendment. And, in fact, what I have proposed is supported by 90 percent of the American people and more than 75 percent of responsible gun owners.

So that is exactly what I think is constitutionally permissible and, once again, you have Donald Trump just making outright fabrications, accusing me of something that is absolutely untrue.

But I’m going to continue to speak out for comprehensive background checks; closing the gun-show loophole; closing the online loophole; closing the so-called Charleston loophole; reversing the bill that Senator [Bernie] Sanders voted for and I voted against, giving immunity from liability to gun makers and sellers. I think all of that can and should be done, and it is, in my view, consistent with the Constitution.

In that remarkable presentation not one word was offered in rebuttal either about the facts of the Heller or McDonald Supreme Court decisions, the poll numbers, or the simple fact that background checks serve only as impediments to law-abiding citizens and none whatsoever to criminals.

Undeterred, Clinton makes up facts as she goes along, as noted in emails published by the thousands over the last month. There is her “public” and “private” viewpoint comment that she revealed back in 2013:

If anyone’s watching … you know … all of the back room discussions and the deals … you know … then people get a little nervous, to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position [on issues].

There are the “back room” disclosures about how closely her campaign works with members of the sycophant media and her real intentions over using Executive Orders to infringe on precious Second Amendment rights:

Circling back around on guns as a follow up to the Friday morning discussion: the Today show has indicated they definitely plan to ask about guns, and so to have the discussion be more of a news event than her previous times discussing guns, we are going to background reporters tonight on a few of the specific proposals she would support as President – universal background checks of course, but also closing the gun show loophole by executive order and imposing manufacturer liability. (emphasis added)

There’s her uncontested “toddler” quote from the third and final debate last week:

I support the Second Amendment …  I disagreed with the way the court applied the Second Amendment in that case because what the District of Columbia [v. Hellerruling] was trying to do was to protect toddlers from guns. And so they wanted people with guns to safely store them.

That was so far outside what the court actually ruled in the case that it brought howls of protest from those who knew better. Responded John Lott, the founder of the Crime Prevention Research Center:

If the ruling contributed to the problem that Clinton describes, one would think that there would have been a lot of accidental gun deaths involving toddlers.  But there doesn’t appear to have been a single accidental gun death of any kind in the District, let alone for toddlers, during the eight years since the Heller decision was announced.

In fact the summary ruling in the Heller case says nothing about toddlers: “The Second Amendment guarantees an individual’s right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.”

And then there’s her support for putting people onto the No Fly list in violation of constitutional limitations (i.e., due process), claiming that “If you are too dangerous to fly, you are too dangerous to buy a gun.” But constitutional limitations have never been a problem for Clinton, despite her taking solemn oaths to support and defend the Constitution as a Senator from New York. Her voting record proves her contempt for that document: her Freedom Index rating while senator of 19 out of 100 shows she voted against it four out of every five times.

Lott exposed her claim as a complete fabrication:

Such a [ban] wouldn’t have prevented a single one of the mass public shootings that have occurred in the United States. And the ban would do nothing to stop terrorism….

As of 2014, about 50,000 people were on the No Fly list…. Between February 2004 and December 2014, over 2,000 people on the list purchased guns. Yet, not one of these people has been identified as using a gun in a crime.

In her quest for the White House, Clinton and her staffers have revealed the worst side of corruption, where truth and lies don’t matter. In The Prince, Niccolò Machiavelli put it well:

In the actions of all men, and especially of princes, where there is no court to appeal to, one looks to the end. So let [the] prince win and maintain his state: the means will always be judged honorable, and will be praised by everyone.

That applies to princesses and would-be queens as well.
