Political savant Austin Chambers is a young man you should keep your eye on. Mr. Chambers is the 21 year old campaign manager who now serves as senior adviser to Governor-elect Eric Greitens. He guided the political newcomer to victory in the primary and general elections. Chambers is now said to be steering the transition process.
Austin is a Georgian. Atlanta, by way of Vidalia. He counts successful Georgia politico, Executive Director of the Republican Governors Association, Paul Bennecke as a friend and mentor. Chambers has earned a reputation among Missouri political professionals as a smart, young operative who does not suffer fools.
Chambers who serves at Eric Greitens’ pleasure will be committed to protecting his boss and guiding his political ascent. Together they know how important policy is. Like the rest of us they have seen other presidential aspirants felled by policy failures at the gubernatorial and senatorial levels. Greitens and Chambers are unlikely to make similar mistakes. They know the task at hand is to organize an administration built to succeed and success depends upon policy.
Austin Chambers and his team deserve great credit for putting Missouri in a position to win long term. The Governor’s Desk will no longer serve as a barrier to labor reform, education reform, tort and court reform, and so many other priorities that have eluded conservatives for years. Not too bad for a 21 year old. Not bad at all.
