America – Will We Still be Known as “the “land of the free and home of the brave?”

We are being manipulated.

When some read that, they immediately see “conspiracy” theory. It’s not at all what I’m talking about.

I don’t believe this started out as a conspiracy to shut America down. I do believe that the “experts” were given full control at the beginning which all in all was a mistake.

It doesn’t matter the application when the “experts” are left to their own devices without check or balance, they will inevitably design a system that is as perfect as you can get for their specialty but isn’t necessarily the system we need, want or that works for America. That’s why elected officials must be held accountable for following the advice of bureaucrats without sufficiently challenging them.

The manipulation that I am referring to is occurring on two-levels, people who won’t or don’t question authority when they should and “leaders” who are themselves frightened either about the next election if they don’t follow the prevailing “wind” and won’t challenge the experts or those who take advantage of the population now that they have them scared enough to comply.

We are there now.

In the beginning, it was wise to take precautions to ensure that the most vulnerable were not impacted. Had that been the direction we took, it would have been the right thing to do.

Instead, our “leaders” took a one size fits all approach. They took actions that ensure our “compliance” by being duplicitous in recording causes of death to “enhance” the reason to follow and not question. They followed models that were quickly shown to be in error yet repeatedly followed them anyway.

They still do.

The result is that America was needlessly shut down by a serious but manageable medical condition that quickly became and is now mostly a political condition.

We should protect the most vulnerable among us but the answer was not and is not to conscript everyone possible to their homes. There is data that suggests that the “flatten the curve” approach has resulted in prolonging the impact rather than shortening it.

We the People should question the “experts” and our elected leaders. Our leaders should not be “leading” from fear of the next election but from a balance of health and economic determinations.

Most are failing to do this.

Quarantine the sick, the at-risk populations, and not just by age alone. Open our economy with common-sense restrictions until we know for certain that even these restrictions are necessary.

Re-open America!

Missouri should follow Texas’ lead and open our state sooner rather than later.

We should not be accepting the planning or accepting an America where everyone is wearing masks, required to take a vaccine or have some sort of certificate to show that you are “clean” to travel, work, or anything else that is common.

Let America be America.

We have been in the past and we are presently strong enough to withstand this IF we do not run and hide in exaggerated fear.

That’s not what America at its best looks like.

That was not the America that won its independence from the world’s greatest power.

That’s not the America that endured brother against brother in a bloody civil war but emerged a bruised yet still united nation.

That’s not the America that played a pivotal role in winning two World Wars.

If you want the kind of America that cowers in fear, you can get that life almost anywhere in the world.

That’s not the America we should leave for future generations.

We seldom hear all the verses of the “Star-Spangled Banner” which is unfortunate. The whole poem is powerful from beginning to end. The last verse should be our remembrance and our objective during this time.

“Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust”:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
