ISIS, radioactive material and open borders

Several news-reporting agencies are reporting that ISIS has enough radioactive material to make a dirty bomb or dirty bombs.

First, let us define what a ‘dirty’ bomb is. A ‘dirty bomb’ is a type of RDD or radiological dispersion device and according to Homeland Security, “A “dirty bomb” is one type of RDD that uses a conventional explosion to disperse radioactive material over a targeted area. The term dirty bomb and RDD are often used interchangeably in technical literature. However, RDDs could also include other means of dispersal such as placing a container of radioactive material in a public place, or using an airplane to disperse powdered or aerosolized forms of radioactive material.”

Therefore, nasty stuff and definitely not something we want in our nation but…there are two problems. Number one ISIS is bent on attacking the United States within our borders and number two our borders are currently wide-open. My background is in safety and while inspecting a site if a potential hazard or hazards are found, we work to prevent, control, and if possible eliminate the hazard. Well folks, we have a hazardous situation on the border right now and for as far as one can see into the future. The open borders are a hazard to not only our own lives but our very nation is in danger.

ISIS, radioactive material, and open borders are a potentially deadly menu for Americans and we must rectify this dangerous situation now before it is too late.

It is time to control and work to eliminate the hazard that is the open borders and to secure our nation from threats such as ‘dirty bombs’ from ISIS.
