Disneyland Holidays are Not as Expensive as You Think

Was it Worth It? – Of course the television ads made it all sound so easy, but it couldn’t be could it? All that we could think about was the list of costs, travel, accommodation, park admissions and being able to afford to eat, hire a car and have money to spend when we were there. The more time we spent thinking about how expensive it was going to be the more we decided that it was never going to happen, until that is we actually went online to check out some of the deals that the ads were promoting. I had my eyes opened and my mind changed in just a few minutes. From being convinced that there was no way we could afford Disneyworld Holidays to thinking it could actually be a viable option was incredible, but we needed to sit down and look at this properly and be realistic. Could we really go for one of the multi-centre holidays brochures were promoting?

Doing the Maths – Once we’d been online and checked out all of the different promotions and deals we found that we would be able to manage after all, especially when we worked out just exactly how much our budget holiday at home was costing us each year. We managed to save money on the travelling and the hire car at the other end, and the cost of admission to the parks was taken care of with the price for our accommodation. The fact that one of the kids is only four really did save us money. In fact when we added all of the costs together it only worked out a couple of hundred pounds different to the cost of a week in the rain in a run down, shabby caravan park. Oh it was always fun, but not the kind of holiday that leaves you with a lifetime of memories.

Telling the Kids – Telling the kids where we were going was fantastic. The looks on their faces spread from confusion to shock, to disbelief and then to some of the widest most natural smiles I have ever seen. They started crying, we started crying. It was silly really but to see the joy on their faces was something I could never have imagined would make me feel so good. Heaven only knows how they are going to react when I tell them that next year’s Orlando Holidays 2013 are just around the corner and we are booking our tickets now to save even more money. I honestly cannot wait to go and wish I’d looked into it sooner.
