Hotel des Etranger, Canakkale, Turkey
We stayed three nights at the Hotel des Etranger in Canakkale, Turkey.
We arrived in the afternoon to a warm friendly greeting.
Our room was on the top floor of the hotel, at the rear of the property.
The room was small, but nice, and it was clean.
The room was expensive, but it had a fridge, and a safe, two things we really like to have in a hotel room.
The bathroom wasn’t a bad size, the shower was very roomy. The water was hot, the pressure good.
There were lots of towels, about six bath towels, and we were given fresh clean ones every day.
Breakfast was included in our room rate. We ate it outside at the back of the hotel in a quiet lane. The breakfast was very good, on our first day.
We were given lots of small plates of food, including, two types of cheese, tomato, cucumber, green and black olives, a very tasty tomato paste, a chocolate and nut sponge cake, honey, jam, and a basket of bread. We asked for coffee which was nice and strong.
On the second day we were asked if we wanted eggs. I asked for a boiled egg. It never arrived.
The service at the hotel was good, we felt very welcome.
Free WiFi was available throughout the hotel, the connection was fast.
The air-conditioning in our room was very good, it cooled the room fast.
Hotel des Etranger is a very pleasant hotel in a good location close to everything in the town; cafes, bars, restaurants, sites.
It’s also very close to the ferry, within walking distance, which was good for us as we left by boat.
We would stay at Hotel des Etranger in Canakkale, Turkey again, but only if someone else was paying our bill.
