Early this year, I booked an open photoshoot by Chrome. It was a partnership between Make up artist Karen Santos and photographer Ryan Borrel. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that Karen hosted a Basic Makeup Workshop that I attended last year. This year, we again meet and this time in her own studio.

The moment she posted that there will be an open photo shoot, I was really interested. Again, it is my frustration to be on print ads or in a commercial. So, this for me can be a substitute since I’m already accepting the fact that I won’t be in a magazine or TV in the near future. Besides, I always want to be photographed, with or without makeup.

Anyway, enough of the introduction, I will now share what happened during that day. It was one Saturday afternoon and my ever supportive boyfriend accompanied me Chrome studio located behind Robinson’s Galleria. There were still clients being attended to so I waited for my turn. Around 10-15mins, I am already prepping up.

The usual preparation was done, the hair stylist was an intern and of course Karen did the make up for my face.

I really don’t know what to do there, no concept and what-so-ever. All I wanted to do was to put some make up on my face and take a photo of me. That’s it. Thankfully, the Ryan has some ideas in stored for the clients. So they wanted some old fashioned look for me, thus the precise hair style was created. The stylist really had a hard time doing it coz my hair is not cooperating. Hahaha!

So first attire, just a casual dress.

As I’ve said, I know nothing about modeling. I realized I wanted to be like the models but I don’t know how to be one. And it really takes some effort to be a model. Haha!

The photographer made me see some poses that I can imitate….

…. unfortunately, I can’t execute it well. At that time, I was thinking of enrolling to Rober Powers or Star Magic for worshops on modelling. Hahaha!

A practice with the photographer was done.

It was fortunate that they are so kind enough not to be irritated to me coz I don’t know what I’m doing infront of the camera. Others say I can do it but if I’m already in action, I get nervous and starts to get dumb. Hehe.

Next attire, jeans.

This one’s a bit easier maybe because I’m more comfortable wearing jeans than a dress. Again, directing of the photographer is necessary…

The shoot for the jeans attire went smoothly.

After the session, it’s mandatory to have a picture with the photographer and the make up artist. I feel like I’m an “artista” that time but a bit disappointed with how I performed that day. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the shoot. It was just a fun shoot but it made me realize that I forgot all about my acting skills as well as my confidence I had when I was still in High School or maybe even in College.
