Hotel Pavarsia, Vlore, Albania

We spent three very enjoyable nights at Hotel Pavaresia in Vlore, Albania.
We had a large room with sea views across the port.

Our room was at the rear of the building on the third floor.
As we entered the room there was a large hall area which housed a wardrobe. The bedroom and bathroom were off of the hall, both were a good size.
The bedroom was well furnished, the double bed was comfortable, furniture included a desk, chair, stool, bedside units, and a fridge.

The bathroom had a standalone shower, with boiling hot water. The water pressure was not particularly strong, but it was adequate. The water pressure fluctuated quite a lot, as did the temperature.
We had complimentary sachets of shampoo, and lots of fresh clean towels.

There was only one air-conditioning unit, it was in the bedroom. It wasn’t the usual ac unit, it was a very large heater style machine, fitted to the wall at floor level. It did blow out nice cold air, and cooled the bedroom quickly. Unfortunately though, it was often turned off by the receptionists. We had to go down to the reception to ask them to turn it back on. One afternoon we had to go downstairs to ask them twice. Apparently they phoned us to check that it was working, but our phone never rang. It didn’t ring because it was broken. So we could never phone the reception to ask for it to be turned back on because the telephone in our room did not work.

Our room at Hotel Pavaresai in Vlore, Albania had a large balcony running along two sides of the building, as it was a corner room. The screen that divided our section of the balcony from the adjacent room was missing, which meant it didn’t feel completely private. Having said that, the room next door was unoccupied during our stay so it wasn’t a big problem.

Breakfast was included in our room rate. It was a self service buffet on the first floor of the hotel.
It was one of the strangest breakfast buffets we’ve had so far on our travels. The assortment of food was not the usual. There were hard-boiled eggs, whole fresh tomatoes, cheese, fresh fruit; banana, kiwi fruit, and apples, and sliced white bread. There were a few other things too, processed packet things, including croissants. Not sure what they tasted like as we didn’t eat them.
Coffee was available, made fresh to order. We both had espresso, which was really good.

Free WiFi was available in our room. The speed was good.

Hotel Pavaresia in Vlore, Albania had a bar and restaurant on the groud floor, one on either side of the building, and there was lots of outside seating at the front of the hotel to accommodate customers and guests.
We ate lunch in the restaurant one day, the food was good, Italian in style. I ordered seafood linguine, which came with prawns, mussels, octopus, and clams. Laura chose spaghetti with olive oil and garlic, which she said lacked any garlic flavour, and was a it heavy on the olive oil. We also ordered mixed vegetables, which consisted of grilled aubergine, pepper, and courgette, and boiled carrot and potato.
We were given a large plate of crusty bread topped with fresh tomato, drizzled with olive oil. We each had a small bottle of Norga Rosa, a local red beer. We enjoyed our lunch, and it only cost about £10.
I left my hat in the restaurant, but didn’t realise until the following morning when we were checking-out. The receptionist got the key to the restaurant, and we went in to look for my hat. We found it. It had been placed on top of one of the drinks fridges. Excellent. Very pleased I hadn’t lost it permanently.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Pavaresia in Vlore, Albania. It’s in a good central location, the staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.
