Lanzarote perfect beaches

Another island in the Spanish Archipelago of the Canary Islands I can’t wait to visit is Lanzarote. Popular for it’s beautiful sandy beaches, Lanzarote also offers it’s visitors crystal clear waters and wonderful sunny days throughout most of the year. Without doubt a very good destination for beach lovers like myself

About where to stay when I book my holidays to Lanzarote I still maintain some doubts… Both Playa Blanca and Arrecife seems to be good choices. The capital of the island Arrecife is also it’s largest city and has of course the best infrastructures for tourism. Also in favor of Arrecife is it’s very central location that assures a good starting point for car travels to get know the rest of the island. On the other hand…

… Playa Blanca has the charm of small towns. Like most of Lanzarote’s villages Playa Blanca is well preserved and, apart from being a place beautiful to visit, it also has several ‘typical restaurants‘ where one can taste local delicacies such as spiced stews and seafood. Has if this wasn’t enough the town has it’s own beach front and is very close to the breathtaking Papagayo Beach.

On the top of the ‘must visit‘ list in Lanzarote is of course Papagayo Beach which is located near Playa Blanca in the Protected Natural Park of Los Ajaches. Other park worthy if a visit is the Park of Timanfaya, with it’s volcanic landscape very typical of the island. Finally a note for the mirador near Orzola who offers a fabulous view over the nearby islands of Graciosa, Montana Clara and Alegranza.
