Mumbai Film Festival Returns for 14th Edition October 18, 2012
Grab your popcorn and soda for the return of Mumbai Film Festival (MMF). This year will mark the 14th edition of the popular film festival which runs from October 18-25.
More than 200 films from 65 countries are scheduled to screen in nine different categories during the 2012 Mumbai Film Festival. The nine categories are: International Competition for the First Feature Films of Directors, World Cinema, Indian Frame, Dimensions Mumbai, Celebrate Age, Retrospectives, Above the Cut , New Faces in Indian Cinema and The Real Reel. Winners in individual categories will be competing for cash rewards totaling $220,000.
Mumbai Film Festival 2012 will screen a package of restored silent films accompanied by a live orchestra, which will include the very first Indian film 1913′s Raja Harischandra, in honor of 2012 marking the 100th year of Indian cinema.
Mumbai Film Festival will be held at National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) located in South Mumbai.
