Travelling the world is on the bucket list of many but is often a pipe dream. The costs of travel and the time it takes from work is often too much for someone to actually handle. The solution to the problem might be to find a job that requires travel as part of the work. After all, getting paid to travel will take care of more than one issue.

ESL Teachers

English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers are in demand throughout the world. Generally, teachers must get certification in the form of a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA, although in some parts of Southeast Asia and Latin America, being a native English speaker and having a college degree is all that is required. The work varies depending on the country, but generally involves teaching English to children and adults in a foreign country. The jobs allow for the flexibility of having time off to explore the region in which you are teaching. Cruise Ship Workers

Truck Drivers

If travelling and working close enough to home that you can still visit family and friends often is preferred, you can work as a truck driver. The job allows you to own your own semi-truck, travel the continental United States and visit points of interest between hauling cargo. Truck drivers often have sleeper trucks, allowing them to save money by not needing to rent hotel rooms. A truck driver is paid between 30 thousand and 200 thousand per year. It varies greatly depending on the type of cargo that he hauls.

Flight Attendant

Young adults between the ages of 18 and 27 can work in foreign countries as an au pair. Au pairs are responsible for taking care of a family’s children, running errands for the family and performing household chores. In exchange, au pairs receive a small amount of money, free room and board and usually language classes. The rate of pay varies greatly depending on the country and the hours worked. Some families that are more well-to-do will expect more and therefore pay more.
