Zodiacus Residence, Bari, Italy

We spent two nights Zodiacus Residence, in Bari, Italy.
Our apartment was described as a one bedroom apartment, but it was actually more of a studio, as the bedroom and bathroom were upstairs on a mezzanine level. Being open-plan meant there was no peace and quiet, or privacy from the other areas of the apartment.
We checked-in at the company office a few doors along the same street as our studio. The lady who dealt with us was professional and friendly. She gave us a map of Bari and answered our questions, and she spoke English, which was handy as our Italian is lacking.

Our studio apartment at Zodiacus Residence in Bari Italy, was quite well designed, they had made good use of the limited space available.
The lower floor contained the lounge and kitchenette. The kitchen area had a two ring halogen hob, sink, fridge, and was well equipped with glasses, cups, plates, pots, pans etc. Washing up liquid, a dish sponge, and a tea towel were also provided.
The living area had a small two seater sofa, a small dining table and two chairs.
There was a fitted wardrobe with plenty of clothes hangers, and extra bedding.
There were two TV’s in the studio, one in the living area, and one upstairs in the bedroom. But as there wasn’t any English language programmes available, we didn’t watch any TV.

The bedroom had two single beds pushed together to form a double. The bed was comfortable.
The bathroom had a small shower cubicle, the water was hot, and the water pressure was good.
Small bottles of shampoo, and shower gel were provided. But we only had one bath towel for the two of us. There were a couple of hand towels.
The towels had seen better days, they were off colour, old, worn, and very rough to use. They weren’t the white, soft, fluffy towels you’d expect at this type of accommodation.

There were two air-conditioning units, one downstairs, one upstairs.
Unfortunately there wasn’t an iron or ironing board, which would have been useful to dry our clothes after we’d got soaked in the rain.

Our studio apartment at Zodiacus Residence in Bari, Italy was fairly modern inside, and comfortable, although the floor could have been much cleaner.
It was in a good location within walking distance of the main shopping street in Bari, and not far from the old town.
The apartment block was quiet, although we were disturbed by the resident in the studio directly above ours, clip-clapping in high-heels for hours every night and in to the early morning.

Free WiFi was available in the studio apartment. The connection was fine on our laptop, but to pick it up on the iPad we had to go and stand by the lift, directly underneath the router.
There were two small balconies in the studio, with glass doors opening to them, but it wasn’t possible to get out on to the balconies, because of the way the building had been renovated. The level of the floor in the studio was a few feet higher than the level of the balconies, so a glass screen had been fitted to stop you falling down.
Still, the windows looking over the balconies offered good views of the street below, and lots of opportunities for people watching.

We enjoyed our short stay at Zodiacus Residence in Bari, Italy, but it was expensive, and didn’t offer good value for money, but then accommodation in Bari is expensive as there is a limited choice available.
