The Jersey Shore Convention and Visitor’s Bureau spreads word with “The Jersey Shore is Open For Business”.

The JSCVB, the only Destination Marketing Organization sponsored by the State of New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism for Monmouth and Ocean Counties is organizing a grassroots, Shore-wide effort designed to let the world know that most shops, restaurants and theaters on the Jersey Shore are open and thriving.

Businesses from all over the Jersey Shore are posting pictures with the OPEN sign to let people all over the world know that the Jersey Shore is strong, resilient and open for business. In the aftermath of hurricane Sandy, businesses across the state have bounced back and are opening their doors. In a recent tour of the Jersey Shore with the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, I had a great opportunity to showcase towns like Red Bank, Atlantic Highlands, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, Point Pleasant and downtown Toms River. Utter amazement was the reaction of reporters as we spoke to business owners who find this holiday season slower yet hopeful.

We have all seen the pictures of the effects of the super storm and now we can see the rebuilding and the hope New Jersey residence have to get “back to a sort of normal” . I clearly must say to those of you that follow this blog that the Jersey Shoreline is still in dismay to an extent but the bright side is the word is out that we are open. This past weekend was the most magnificent sight to see. The holiday spirit is in full swing. The tree lighting in Toms River Hall Courtyard, Asbury Park tree lighting in Press Plaza, Ocean Grove tree lighting ion Main Street, and the borough hall gazebo on Sycamore Avenue in Shrewsbury proved to bring out hte crouds in full force this weekend.

Whats great to see is that many most of the towns that are still able to hold festivals are still doing so. In Red Bank the town’s 3rd Annual Gingerbread Walk event beginning Friday, November 25th through Wednesday, December 21st is in full force. Ocean Grove Victorian House and Inn Tour will again happen this year. December 7 & 8 (Sat-Sun) VICTORIAN HOLIDAY FESTIVAL: Houses & Inns on Tour 8 (Sun) GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST.
