Travel: Use Luxury Ideas to Market Your Home or Vacation Rental

I see hundreds of ads for luxury vacation rentals and resorts each week and I am constantly amazed at how much “eye appeal” or “curb appeal” most of them have.

I wrote a post last year titled,”The Value of Country Real Estate” but today I want to encourage those who own vacation rental properties to explore some new ideas on how to make your vacation rental stand out from the crowd.

Here’s an impressive 9 bedroom, 10 bath home available for your Beverly Hills California vacation. What stands out when you read the details are the size of the home, the location, and the impressive pool/spa area and extensive landscaping. Want to grab a piece of this Mulholland Drive luxury for your vacation rental but can’t afford a pool and spa? How about a smaller-scale water feature instead?

An estate-sized fountain sure would spruce up the entry to your rental property, as would a waterfall or other water feature in a private back garden.

Here’s another luxurious example, this time from St. Augustine Beach, Florida:

“The master bath features rich marble, an oversized soaking tub with Jacuzzi jets, a bidet, a walk-in shower, a walk-in closet, his and her lavatories, and a separate powder area.”

Okay, so your rental property doesn’t have the Atlantic Ocean at its back door. But how about ripping out the current bathtub and replacing it with a Jacuzzi?

Not every person in the market for a vacation rental can afford $400 – $4,000 a night for accommodation, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t looking for the same pampering as those who can.

Take a hard look at the “curb appeal” of your vacation rental and imagine what a fountain like this could add to the first impression?

Vacation Home Rentals is a good place to consider for listing your rental property but also take some time to study the competition – and imagine what improvements you can implement this year to help make your home a “dream property.”
