All along the New Jersey shore, the warmer

All along the New Jersey shore, the warmer weather is generating excitement for a tourist-filled Summer.  

The Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area, which did suffer Sandy storm damage, is Open as of May 1, with three beaches—B, Gunnison and North—opening by Memorial Day weekend. some of the bike paths are back up while some beaches will have temporary restroom facilities. The beloved Sea Gulls’ Nest restaurant is hopeful for a late-summer reopening.   It is well worth the trip if you have never been. 

In Lakewood, it’s business as usual for Future Classics and the Strand Center for the Arts. Route 70 Flea Market continues to welcome bargain shoppers every weekend. At M. Christina Geis Gallery, on the campus of Georgia Court University, upcoming exhibits will feature student works.  

Want an exciting trip on the water, Join us for a NJ dinner cruise aboard The River Lady.  (It’s not just dinner) The River Lady splendidly captures the ambiance of a 19th century Mississippi Paddleboat. Captain Ed of Oceanport’s Great Ga-Zee-Boat Is open with his one-of-a-kind boat. He’ll be welcoming sightseers for cruises.    

Monmouth Park in Oceanport won’t slow down the racing on “The Shore’s Greatest Stretch.” The track opened for its regular season on May 11. Work up an appetite at the park’s new 36-hole miniature golf course, and then head to Bobby’s Burger Palace for one of their 10 signature burger creations. A loss of electricity following the storm kept them from serving customers for a few days, but they were quickly back serving burgers inspired by owner Bobby Flay’s travels.   

Six Flags Great Adventure is making big news these days with the new wild Safari,   All new for 2013 you will want to come just for this.   1,200 animals from six continents including elephants, rhinos, tigers, giraffes and lions, Safari Off Road Adventure takes explorers on an exhilarating intense, up-close animal experience unlike anything you’ve ever

In Seaside Heights, work to rebuild the wrecked boardwalk is almost finished.  On June 21st 2013 join Governor Christie and the town of Seaside Heights hammer in the last nail in the boardwalk. Hemmingway’s Café,  JR’s Ocean Bar and Grill,  Lucky Leo’s  and the Carousel Arcade have all been open and are waiting for you.  Many restaurants special entertainment on Friday and Saturdays so check out your favorite hot spot and call ahead for the weekend lineup.  Most places in Seaside Heights will be open seven days a week during the summer. Nearby, Coral Sands Motel,  and the Hershey Motel are open.
