Laguna Beach's Beautiful Main Beach |
Laguna Beach is one of California’s treasures and your visit will be long remembered. Here are some great things to do for a nice get away...
|
Sunset at Laguna Beach, California |
Located in southern California, Laguna Beach (also known as just ‘Laguna’) is a beautiful seaside resort city known for its mild year-round climate, scenic beaches and coves, quaint downtown village, and for being an artist community.

Sunset at Laguna's Main Beach |
It is easy to fall in love with Laguna Beach! What could be better than a relaxing get-away with seaside village atmosphere in a luxury hotel with great restaurants and shopping and a chance to walk along an beach boardwalk enjoying Laguna’s beach scene and historic lifeguard tower (see photo)?

Main Beach Lifeguard Tower & Volleyball Beach Scene |
Separated from the inland by a long canyon, Laguna runs about 7 miles along California’s Pacific Coast Highway PCH 1. We stayed near Main Beach (see photos), where Laguna’s downtown village meets the shore, with its Mediterranean Riviera-like ocean-front park, irresistible boutique shops (for women), very good restaurants, and inviting bars that are clustered along the easily walkable area of Laguna’s downtown village located along three parallel streets (Forest Avenue, Broadway, and Ocean Avenue).

Pat Enjoying Spectacular Ocean Views - Laguna Beach, California |
Don’t miss walking along the beautifully landscaped walkway north of Laguna’s village to Heisler Park taking in the spectacular bluffs and ocean views. Other interesting attractions include the Laguna Art Museum, The Laguna Playhouse, Pacific Marine Mammal Center, and tide pools.

240 Forest Avenue Restaurant, Laguna Beach |
|
Inn at Laguna Beach Overlooking Main Beach |
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Laguna Beach and dinner at the 240 Forest Avenue restaurant on Forest Avenue (see photos) followed by a great frozen chocolate banana from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Laguna Beach’s numerous art galleries are fun to explore and Pat could not pass on the beautiful fashions from the shops.
Downtown Laguna swells with tourists on summer weekends, but even during the busy season you can find less crowded small beaches away from the downtown village and Main Beach.
|
Quaint Shops & Restaurants on Forest Avenue |
An estimated 3 million people visit Laguna Beach annually. Annual large events include the Pageant of the Masters, Sawdust Festival, Festival of the Arts, Art-A-Fair, and Kelpfest.
The Sawdust Art Festival has been voted “one of the country’s top five festivals” by American Style Magazine. It features over 200 local artisans. The world famous Pageant of the Masters is a one-of-a-kind living art display where art is portrayed by people. It is sometimes referred to as one of the most unique productions in the world.
