Disney Frozen Ride

New information has just been released about the up and coming Frozen Ride at Epcot. With the huge success of this movie, bringing in over a billion dollars worldwide, the anticipation has been huge. Only a few details have been released, but here’s what we know so far.

The Location
The Frozen ride will be located in between the Mexico and Norway attractions inside of Epcot. The main attraction will be rather large at about 13,000 feet. It will replace the Maelstrom ride that was already taken down about a year ago.

The Actual Ride
There isn’t a lot of information out yet about the actual ride, but what we do know is that Elsa’s ice palace will be part of it as well as the movie’s North Mountain. Riders will visit Arendelle’s kingdom as they go on a journey to relive some of the scenes from the film. They are able to do so because of Elsa’s “magic powers”. Many are speculating that because of the premise behind the movie that the temperature inside of the ride might actually drop a little to go with the atmosphere. There’s no word, however, as to whether or not this will actually occur.

The Critics
Despite the fact that this ride is bound to be very popular, there are already a few critics. Some feel that the fictional country, Arendelle, should not be among all the other countries in Epcot that actually exist. However, since much of the movie was inspired by Scandinavia, many feel that it will be the perfect fit.

The Frozen Ride will open next year if all goes according to schedule. Riders will get to experience things like journeying through Troll Valley, Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, and of course, Elsa’s ice castle. No new songs will be introduced, but don’t worry, fans will still get to hear movie favorites like “Let It Go” sung by an audio-animatronic Elsa at some point during the ride. Disney hopes that fans will feel as if there are back in the movie.
