If you are willing to call your airline or hotel directly you may be able to negotiate on things like prices or upgrades. Prices are not usually set in stone and a company will sometimes lower their price in order to get your business. If you are quoted a price and they tell you that they can’t go any lower, thank them and let them know you will try somewhere else. You would be surprised at the number companies that will change their tune before you hang up the phone.

Take Advantage of the Internet
The internet is a great place to find things related to travel that are cheap or even free. For instance, instead of buying things like pricey guidebooks, search online to learn about your destination. You can even find last minute travel deals or free things to do at your destination.

Read The Fine Print
The fine print is what really gets a lot of travelers. They don’t read it and they end up with added fees that they didn’t realize were part of that “really good deal”. If something seems too good to be true then it probably is and you really need to read all of the fine print carefully.
