90s TV Show Sets Worth Visiting

Not all TV shows and movies from the 90s were filmed exclusively on TV sets. Many of the most iconic features of some of these shows occurred in places other than Los Angeles. These are some of the most popular 90s TV shows and movies where you can actually visit a little piece of them.

Holsten’s Brookdale Confectionaery Ice Cream Parlor From The Sopranos
While this show first aired in the 90s, this now famous location wasn’t seen on the show until the series finale in 2007. It’s located in Bloomfield, New Jersey and the booth that the Soprano family sat in is available to sit at during the week, but is reserved for tour bus stops on Saturdays. The ice cream here is amazing and worth trying, after you’ve taken a bunch of photos that is.

Monks Cafe From Seinfeld
Storyline after storyline featured Monks Cafe on Seinfeld. The cafe is actually called Tom’s Restaurant. It’s located just a few blocks away from Columbia University. Despite what it looked like on the show, the interior is completely different. There is some memorabilia on hand though. Just make sure that you bring cash because that’s all that they currently accept.

Cheers Bar and Restaurant
In Boston you can still visit Bull and Finch bar, which served as inspiration for the tv show Cheers. The show aired from 1982 to 1993….”where everybody knows your name” became the shows tag line and was also featured in the theme song. Although the show was not filmed there, they did use this bar for initial interior and exterior shots. You can purchase t-shirts, hat, mugs and more all with Cheers logo.  If you are able to finish the Norm Burger you will get a spot on the wall.

The Spellman House From Sabrina The Teenage Witch
Located at 64 East Main Street in Freehold, New Jersey, visitors are welcome here as long as they don’t make too much of a ruckus. The house is currently used for a variety of different businesses so there are no magical spells going on here. Unfortunately, visitors don’t tend to see any cool cats like Salem walking around.

Monica And Rachel’s Apartment From Friends
The actual apartment of Monica and Rachel’s was on a set in Los Angeles, but the outside building, that was shown on TV, was located in Greenwich Village. At the corner of Grove And Bedford Street, the fountain they splash around in the “I’ll Be There For You Song” can be seen by looking above the “Little Owl” restaurant.

Halloweentown
This town is actually a real place and is located in St. Helens, Oregon. The movie was filmed here back in 1998. The town has embraced it’s fame and it turns into Halloweentown every October. Festivities generally include a Pumpkin Lighting Ceremony, Severed Head Tractor Ride and a Mad Hatter’s Costume. There are many festivties that take place that both the young and old can enjoy, even if they have never seen the movie. However, it’s a good idea to see Halloweentown before visiting St. Helens so you can really get into the iconic movie feel of the Place.
