What comes to mind when you envision an old town? Historical buildings and a charming vibe are often what some of the old towns in Europe look like. Dubrovnik, Croatia
This old town is the perfect place to visit for anyone that loves the ocean. It’s located on the Montenegrin coast and really is a breathtaking place to visit. Krakow, Poland
One of the things that sets this old town apart from other areas in Poland is the architecture. This town is full of history and really is one of the most beautiful places in the world. An interesting part of it is that a park actually encircles it which really makes it difficult not to fall in love with the area. While here make sure you walk around the park, grab something to eat at Camelot (the cheesecake is fantastic!) and see some of the art in Kazimierz.

Edinburgh, Scotland
The old town section of Edinburgh is very colorful and brimming with life. If you visit Victoria Street you will find numerous shops and you can see Edinburgh Castle almost anywhere in the town. If you can, visit Edinburgh in August so that you can take part in the Edinburgh Festival or on New Years so that you can participate in the Hogmanay celebration.

Prague, Czechia
You won’t find a shortage of things to do here in this old town. It’s well preserved even though over the years they did have invaders from time to time. Make sure you head over to Kutna Hora to check out the bone chapel. Charles Bridge is also another nice place to go, especially if you can get over there around the time the sun in setting as there tends to be musicians scattered about playing music.

Florence, Italy
What a treasure this old town is! It’s full of museums, churches and a lot of art. Many travelers come from near and far to visit the Accademia and see Michelangelo’s David or the Uffizi that feature a variety of different types of art. Be sure to also head over to the Piazzale Michelangelo as you can see some of the best views of the city from here.
