Feng Shui Good Luck Tips for the New Year

Many believe that good luck in the New Year isn’t just about what you eat and drink. There are some things that you can do to promote balance and happiness in your home. Make sure you take advantage of some of these feng shui tips in 2019 to bring about good luck.

Clean Your House
It’s important that you clean your home before New Year’s Day. This will allow you to get rid of any negative energy that has collected over the year. Get rid of any clutter as well.  Space clearing removes negative and stagnant energy from the home. If you have the time, fix things that are broken. If they can’t be fixed, consider throwing the item away.  You want energy to flow through your home and items that are broken can definitely block energy.

Just make sure you don’t clean your home on January 1st, as it will just get rid of any good luck that you do have. When you are cleaning, practice the Qi Cleansing Ritual.

Here’s how it works:

• Stand in the center of your home.
• Clear your mind of any thoughts.
• Ring a bell several times so that your entire home is filled with only that sound.

Be In The Right Dress And State Of Mind
The first words you say in the New Year will set the tone for next twelve months. Say I love you if you are with loved ones.  Then perhaps something about good health, happiness and wealth for all around you. Give thanks for the year that has passed & all the good things that will come in 2019.

Stay positive on New Year’s Day. Don’t get angry at anyone. Try to stay in a good mood and be cheerful. It’s also important that you wear red of some sort to bring about a bright New Year. You can opt for a red outfit or a few red accessories.  Some suggest a new red wallet to start the New Year. Make sure and have some cash in your wallet.

Put Away The Sharp Objects
Any knives, razors or scissors should be put out of sight. The reason behind this is that they can shred luck. If you happen to have any of these items lying around, make sure you hide them on New Years Day and definitely don’t cut anything.

Have a Bowl of Round Fruits
Have a bowl of round fruits including apples & oranges.  Both colors will attract positive energy in the new year.

Add Plants
Add plants with round leaves, preferably purple or red to bring wealth good energy.

Keep Your Toilet Lids Down
You don’t want to flush your money down the toilet. Close the top before flushing and keep the lid closed.  It’s also a good idea to plug any drains in the house.

Pay Outstanding Bills
Bills can act as a weight that’s hanging over your head. Before going into the New Year, make sure you pay them to bring about some good luck. If you can’t pay them off in their entirety, at least pay a little bit towards them to bring about some positivity.

Give Guests A Proper Greeting
If you will be having guests over on New Year’s Day, make sure you greet them properly. Loudly exclaim, “Gong Xi Fa Chai!” in a friendly voice. Translated this says, “Have a happy and prosperous new year.” You may also want to give your guests a gift of some sort that’s auspicious. A good choice is a few Chinese coins that are tied together with red thread. New Year’s Day is about celebrating and you really should spend the day by being around people that you love.
