Top 10 U.S. Landmarks on Instagram

The U.S. has dozens of famous landmarks that offer the perfect photo opportunity for your Instagram.  However, some landmarks have the edge when it comes to being Instagram-worthy. 

Here are the top 10 US landmarks on Instagram.

#1.  Times Square – New York City, New York
Surrounded by bright neon lights and towering skyscrapers, Times Square is one of New York City’s main tourist attractions, with nearly 50 million visitors annually.  It’s also one of the most Instagrammed landmarks in the United States.  If you don’t mind crowds, New Year’s Eve is one of the best times to visit Times Square– where you can get an up-close-and-personal view of the famous ball dropping at midnight with nearly 1 million other people in the city.

#2.  Central Park – New York City, New York
With its lush greenery and wide open spaces, Central Park is a sanctuary set amidst the concrete jungle that is New York City, and one of the most Instagrammed landmarks in the U.S.  Check out the Central Park Zoo, or snap a photo taking a carriage ride through the park to make your Instagram the envy of all your followers.  The best time to visit is September through November, when the gorgeous fall foliage is at its finest.

#3.  Disney World – Orlando, Florida
The happiest place on earth is also one of the most Instagrammed places on earth.  Walt Disney World Orlando has too many attractions to list: Space Mountain, Cinderella’s Castle, as well as the much-anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy Edge that is opening August 29, 2019.  The best time to go to Disney is in September, after most kids return to school.

#4.  Museum of Modern Art – New York City, New York
The Museum of Modern Art, or MOMA, is one of the top 10 Instagrammed locations in the U.S. The MOMA is home to an amazing collection of modern and contemporary art, including Monet’s “Water Lilies,” Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” and Picasso’s “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” to name a few.  The MOMA is open daily from 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., later on Fridays.  Note: the museum will be closed from June 16 to October 20, 2019 to prepare for its reopening. 

#5.  Epcot – Orlando, Florida
Another Disney theme park makes the top 10 U.S. landmarks on Instagram.  Check out the Test Track, Soarin’, Mission Space, or eat and drink around the world at the World Showcase at Epcot

#6.  Brooklyn Bridge – New York City, New York
The iconic Brooklyn Bridge, which connects Brooklyn to Manhattan, is one of the most photographed bridges in the world. The Brooklyn Bridge is especially Instagram-worthy at night when it’s lit up and the reflection of the city’s skyline sparkles in the East River.

It’s no wonder that the Grand Canyon is one of the top U.S. landmarks on Instagram.  The ancient rock formations and breathtaking vistas make for the perfect Instagram selfie– just be careful along the steep cliffs.

#8.  Rockefeller Center – New York City, New York

Rounding out the top 10 is another iconic New York City landmark.  At 1,454 feet tall, the Empire State Building provides some of the best views, making it very Instagrammable.  The Empire State Building has two observation decks, as well as shops, exhibits and dining.
