Messer Tells Kerry He Supports U.S. In Syria

(Washington, D.C.) – Southeast Indiana’s congressman says he supports U.S. military action in Syria.
Sixth District Representative Luke Messer (R-Shelbyville) was in on Wednesday’s hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where Secretary of State John Kerry, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey all took turns making the case for the President’s proposed no-boots on the ground military strike.
Messer, a member of the committee, told Kerry that he would support a strike on Syria’s government. Messer is the first member of Indiana’s congressional delegation to back the president’s proposed limited military strike in Syria, where President Bashar Al-Assad is accused of using chemical weapons to fight rebels.
