Marine Shooting At Camp Lejeune Base
A Marine standing guard at Camp Lejeune’s Main Gate was shot and killed Tuesday evening by another Marine.
Trained to kill
At approximately 5:30 p.m., a Marine standing guard at Camp Lejeune’s Main Gate discharged an M4 rifle, killing another Marine guard.
The Base Provost Marshal said in a statemnet that the incident is being considered neither as an act of terrorism nor an active shooter event at this time.
Identities of the two guards are being withheld until relatives are notified.
