Mainstream news is in a frenzy over a new ass-kicking video about Donald Trump, but why? The president hopeful is being portrayed in a new light and mainstream seems to be loving it, as are over 142,000 Americans, but what is the real reason for this?
Saturday Night Live (SNL) is among mainstream programs welcoming flaxen-haired reality star Trump with open arms. He’s scheduled to host SNL next week, in seven days.
NBC made the announcement three months after severing its partnership with the controversial real estate mogul. That was just before Trump’s Miss USA pageant was to be broadcast on the network.
Fox News, that broadcast the first GOP debate in August to 24 million viewers, enjoyed a double-digit increase in primetime viewership during the third quarter, landing it in first place among the prime-time cable networks for Q3. In September, CNN broke its own single-program ratings record when 22.9 million viewers tuned in to the second debate.
Everyone loves a laugh and next week, Trump will have a major platform on SNL for bolstering his votes – or will he?
It seems there’s a glitch. It all started in a small film studio in Culver City, with one not so large a stature filmmaker, with an incredibly huge capacity for creating films and an equally huge heart, Robert Greenwald.
Greenwald’s the artist who creates through his company Brave New Films documentaries and shorts on issues well hidden from most Americans, such as one by Oscar nominee James Spione, SILENCED, The War on Whistleblowers. His list is so long, placing it here might crash the readers’ computers.
Recently, however, the award-winning filmmaker Greenwald directed a short film that is so powerful, Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, MSN and Salon and others have featured it, with at the very least hot links to it.
NBC has stayed quiet amid numerous calls asking it to cancel Trump’s appearance. Immigration reform advocacy group America’s Voice’s petition on MoveOn.org pressuring NBC to “Dump Trump” as host of Saturday Night Live,” has over 142,000 signatures.
Forbes reports this week on Brave New Films releasing the video urging NBC to Dump Trump, “suggesting that the network itself is implicit in the same kind of anti-Hispanic discrimination Trump is famous for.”
