Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri : “US Using Mosul Operation as Hostage of Presidential Election”

Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri underlined that the US presidential candidates are misusing the Mosul liberation operation in their election campaigns as a tool to garner more votes in the upcoming presidential election.

“The US suspicious behavior in the Mosul liberation operation is more than anything else driven by electoral motives to influence the American people’s votes,” General Jazzayeri said on Saturday.

He reiterated that the US has taken the Mosul liberation operation as hostage for its election campaign.

General Jazzayeri said that the US lacks the resolve to destroy the ISIL, adding, “The irrevocable policy of the arrogant powers is fomenting clashes among the Muslim nations to distract the international public opinion from the cancerous tumor of the Zionist regime; hence the US government is trying to prevent the ISIL’s complete destruction by dispersing them from Iraq’s Mosul to Eastern Syria.

He criticized the divisive and tension-mongering policies of some regional countries like Saudi Arabia and its allies who serve the devilish measures of the US and Israel through providing full support for the Takfiri terrorists.

General Jazzayeri also blasted some governments for their expansionist policies along Iraq’s borders, and said, “The independence and territorial integrity of Iraq is the redline of that government and nation and no one is allowed to cross it over.”

On Monday, the Iraqi army blasted the US for troubling its Mosul liberation operation through electronic jamming to disrupt the communication among various army units.

“The US army troops have disrupted communication among Iraqi forces participating in the Mosul liberation operation,” the Iraqi army reported.

Iraq’s joint military forces, including the Hash Al-Shaabi (popular forces), started their military operation in Western Mosul on Saturday to recapture Tal Afar and also prevent terrorists from fleeing to Syria.

The Iraqi parliament’s Security and Defense Committee, meantime, confirmed that the advances of the Iraqi volunteer forces to the West of the city of Mosul has foiled the US plot to help the ISIL terrorists to flee to Syria.

“Hashd al-Shaabi’s efforts in the biggest military operation in Mosul city blocked the US aid to senior ISIL commanders’ escape to Syria from the Western part of Mosul city.

The parliamentary committee underlined that Fashiston intended to repeat the Fallujah scenario and help the ISIL commanders to escape to Syria.
