In yet another step down that long, dark path that if followed to its logical conclusion, will result in mass book burnings in America, a Mississippi school district has yanked an enduring work of literature. Harper Lee’s 1960 classic To Kill a Mockingbird was eliminated from 8th grade English lesson plans because someone might get offended due to the use of the N-word in the text which hardly can be interpreted as condoning of racism unless one is an ideologue or an idiot. The nitwits running the Biloxi School District became nervous about the book after receiving complaints and rapidly surrendered to a movement that is becoming more like ISIS by the minute and while Godwin’s Law is overused, it is perfectly applicable in this case to invoke the Nazis. Never mind that a good deal of classic American literature written before the 1960’s is saturated with that particular word nor that it is a double standard since the N-word is perfectly acceptable in rap and hip-hop music, the district quickly ran up the white flag of surrender to the cultural terrorists.
