Civil War Coming to America? Over 20 States Petitioning to Secede

The growing political tension in America that we have beeing seeing the the Occupy Wall Street protests, the Tea Party movement, the Liberty movement, and other similar political movements is now reaching its breaking point; the out of control federal spending, the massive deficit, the 2012 NDAA, and the growing disregard for individual liberties and personal freedoms in America are all contributing factors to tens of thousands of people in over twenty different states filing for peaceful secession from the United States.

Petitions are being are being filed from all across the U.S. on the White House’s official “We the People” petition website (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/) in which people are requesting to formally secede from the United States for reasons like the NDAA and the out of control spending.

According to White House rules, each petition must receive at least 25,000 signatures in order for it to be officially reviewed by the administration. If a petition does reach this threshold, however, it is said that the administration will review and respond to the petition. The Texas petition has now well exceeded this threshold with over 40,000 signatures and Louisiana is close to reaching the threshold with nearly 21,000 signatures. What seems most strange about these petitions is that they are not only coming from certain types of states. There is a mixture of red and blue states, conservative and liberal states, northern and southern states, and eastern and western states. This sends a clear message: Everyone across America is becoming fed up with the way things are going.

Pennsylvania – 2,301 signatures

Arizona – 5,152 signatures

Oklahoma – 5,246 signatures

Arkansas – 7,715 signatures

South Carolina – 15,945 signatures

Georgia – 17,393 signatures

Missouri – 13,792 signatures

Tennessee – 10,775 signatures

Michigan – 8,043 signatures

New York – 7,877 signatures

Colorado – 8,885 signatures

Oregon – 6,875 signatures

New Jersey – 6,483 signatures

North Dakota – 6,043 signatures

Montana – 6,709 signatures

Indiana – 8,187 signatures

Mississippi – 8,016 signatures

Kentucky – 8,023 signatures

Florida – 12,056 signatures

North Carolina – 10,755 signatures

Alabama – 11,703 signatures

Texas – 40,505 signatures

Louisiana – 20,739

This all adds up to a total of 250,711 signatures.

If these requests to peacefully secede are granted by the federal government, our nation as we know it will be over; but if these outraged people’s requests are denied and they decide to resort to non-peaceful measures, it very well may be anyway. It seems as though we have reached a very crucial point in our nation’s history and only time will tell what will happen next.
