The Pictures North Korea Tried To Stop From Getting Out

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

A North Korean refugee family living in a small village in Småland. Park, 41, and his wife, Kim, 38, escaped from North Korea for more than four years ago. Now they live near Kalmar with daughter Lois, 3, and son Simon, 1, both born in Sweden. One daughter remained in North Korea for escape. She is now nine years old, but the family has no contact with her and do not even know if she’s alive.
They do not want to reveal his full name or exactly where they are – for fear of the North Korean regime. The father tells about their hard life in their home country.
- I drove truck for 13 years. My wife worked in a steel mill. But the salary was not enough food, we were hungry all the time. We had barely afford a meal a day, says Park to Expressen.
- It is very difficult to live in North Korea. We have no freedom. The police will check you all the time, you have to have permission for every little trip.

There are 25 pictures in the collection.  I just took a few.  I gotta be honest, I had no idea North Koreans had any life remotely similar to anyone elses but it looks that way.  Despite the crazy regie, the police state under which they life and the dire conditions that hound them everyday, they stll go to work, they still picnic and have fun with their friends.  Really puts a human face on North Korea other than Kim Jung Uns’. -Mort

I have seen a few videos snuck out of N Korea and there is a population that is maintained quite well. They are fortunate enough to have enough to eat and kiss butt quite well, brainwashed quite a few. Its really odd.

Look at the people watching the group of those having a picnic, you can tell they are hoping to get some left overs as they sit there with a fire. You can also see that there are a lot of men in uniforms, one even is carrying his child. All these folks that are well fed are families connected to higher ranked military, they also are loyal so work for the government.

Look at the not so well dressed on bikes, they have no obesity problem. They look pretty gaunt. When folks who travel to N Korea they have a minder with them at all times, they are not allowed to see any village outside of the city but they have spotted nearby fenced in areas with row houses and people inside.

Lack of obesity?/ We could fix it easy, just put up some Mac Donald, Burger King & Kentucky Fried Chicken! Plus have them drinking Coke & Pepsi with their meal. Last of it, put SPORT! SPORT! SPORT! On TV 24/7!

        • AxisOfEvil

So pretty much, have them mirror the average American’s way of life…

          AnusOfMcEvil,
“Obesity rates at historic levels in Canada”

          “Stupid is as stupid does”

        • AxisOfEvil

Equalizer: historic levels in Canada means that there are more obese people than before, which is still a very low percentage. In the US it’s up to what 50%?

Go back to eating your fried raccoon balls and dating your sister.

        • AxisOfEvil

Also, I noticed that every time that you change my name, the word anus comes up….. You might have some sort of fixation monkey boy

      • TheOnlyWiseOneHere

You don’t get laid much, do you?

      • Munkey

The reason there is malnutrition is the economic sanctions and embargo’s against the country.
Starving people is the mo of the elitists. This is cheapest form of mass death and subservient population.

I am shocked at the penetration of shills and misinformation on this website.

    • BEARSCARE

Jesus @#$%ing @#$% you’re a retard Mort. Stop spreading this rubbish. I bet that happy Korean family enjoying a nice sunny picnic are starving too eh? Go kill yourself. There’s not a single person in any of those pictures that looks sad, oppressed, or hungry. There’s even a military person walking happily down the street amongst the civilians, and there appears to be no signs of concern. You’re an idiot and people like you need to shut up and stop helping spread propaganda throughout the masses. North Korea is probably happier than the USA. @%## off.

      • Joerg Klaemt

        BEARSCARE
        What is your problem ,moron?
        Ca’nt read english?
Mort is not saying that they are unhappy on the contrary.
With your illiteracy no wonder your country is going bonkers.

      • killuminati420

Dont feel bad half the people who commented on here are as stupid as you are…..try reading the article not just looking at pictures

    • Inkling

I must be blind, stupid (probably both) or my have received different images, but I fail to see anything wrong with these pictures, unless it is the piano-accordion playing woman in the first photo. They are truly weapons of mass destruction! (only joking folks!)

      • just me

Actually, the piano-accordion is an awesome tool for control! I threaten my kid with mine – around here, it’s “Shape up or you’re cruisin’ for a polka!!!” … Works every time!

      • killuminati420

        lol read the article

    • Ahura Madza

These photos could only have been accompilshed with a good Digital camera and computer system or film camera and developing lab. It is doubtful the “AVERAGE” NK would have such luxury.
Also, cities are much much more esteemed by comunist governments, the hell is out in the country, where the peasents are robbed to keep the cities fed.

    • Ranger_Ric

I doubt anyone will miss you. Why don’t you buy a ticket to NK and stay there since you think they are such a happy group of people.

    • Ana

What is with the grammer in all these articles? Is there an editor available or is this written in someone’s basement?

      • beezlbub

        Basement… no spell check.

      • TheOnlyWiseOneHere

        Grammar.

    • westside prepper

are the people bad because they are citizens of a country with a police state or have a dictator or have weapons of mass destruction, wait am i talkin about the u.s. or north korea, let me get back to you i have to see which dictator the was talking about.

    • lezlow

      balderdash

    • DaveB

Why not just listen to someone that escaped from NK.

      http://www.ted.com/talks/hyeonseo_lee_my_escape_from_north_korea.html

      • Love Ya

i watched your ted video, dave, thanks for putting that out. i don’t think we know much about the north korean people. if you look at a google map, there are no lights on at night in n. korea. i hope these 20 some million people are doing okay. bottom line is we just don’t know.

    • Reaper

Guess what pal: Welcome to the US cause it seems not much different except for the illusion we have freedoms….People here work two jobs, sometimes husband and wife and still do not have enough to feed and care for their families etc…..child care, health care etc are out the roof and “THEY” are still digging deeper in citizens pockets via taxation—-WELCOME TO THE US or were we talking about N. Korea…?

    • AUSSIEwill

solution; get the pope from vatican city to send money to the poor and help them out,,wouldnt that be wat god wanted?

    • Alien_Resident

I’ve notice a few trolls on these comments and I’ve come to realise these photos demonstrate something of significance. Otherwise they wouldn’t bother with their pathetic trolling. This goes for most relevant stories as well that has any harm to government propaganda. NK is not what it’s perceived to be!

    • TheOnlyWiseOneHere

“entire prison city’s (sic) where people are beaten if they look at the sky”

      Pics or it didn’t happen.

    • Anonymous

They only get meat twice a year, once for Korean Thanksgiving and again for New Years. Most beef goes to officials and its roadkill and/or sickly. Judging by the comments, no one has any idea how these people are affected and what loss of freedom means. In this gov, your own family turns you in if you say anything against the “great leader”; and straight to the labor camps you go and don’t come out again unless its to be buried. Very tragic and sad…

    • Anonymous

Theses photos look ok to me.

      • killuminati420

        Read the bottom genius

    • JD

Hey Mort – the information depicted in the pictures is actually the ‘tourist’ impression of NK. They do actually release these photos to show the world that NK is a good place, but the people you see having picnics with their friends, walking down the street, going to “work”, etc. is all a show for tourism.

These videos are intended to make you feel like NK is a good place, however in reality it is a very underdeveloped and malnourished country overall. Pyonyang is a stage for the world to see, and the rest of the country is the REAL NK.
