Amnesty Int'l Disinformation Weapon Strikes Again

Amnesty International (AI) is again proving that it is a loud mouthpiece front group for the United States war machine’s disinformation weapon and profiting from its human rights fraud, according to a host of human rights leaders that on Tuesday, called for people of goodwill to help expose this group for what it is.

AI Profiting from Unwitting Recruits Fostering Suffering and Death

“Some human rights groups, especially Amnesty International, seem to have forgotten to oppose all violations of human rights — by all sides — in war,” stated the human rights force RootsAction in a written statement Tuesday. ”To remind them, click here.”

Amnesty International is highlighting war-making in Syria’s civil war by one side only, the one that benefits U.S. imperialism: “Our team of researchers on the ground found evidence that government forces bombed entire neighborhoods and targeted residential areas with long-range surface-to-surface missiles.”

That’s what AI stated in an April 29 fundraising email that failed to mention abuses by U.S. and allies-supported Syrian rebels.



AI has done the same in relation to US atrocities against innocent Libyans, other nationals and their leaders that U.S. leaders prefer to be left unknown.

“This one-sided treatment by a group avowedly dedicated to all human rights is fueling the fires of a wider war from which the people of Syria can only suffer,” RootsAction declared Tuesday.



Former AI-USA board member Prof. Francis Boyle (Professor of International Law, Univ. of Illinois, Champaign) has explained, “Amnesty International is primarily motivated not by human rights but by publicity. Second comes money. Third comes getting more members.”

Unwitting AI recruits and mainstream news readers are told in email blasts, reports and the AI websites, “Amnesty has a strong track record of using our on-the-ground findings to pressure governments and the United Nations Security Council to hold those responsible for the slaughter of civilians accountable.”



But does it?

When researchers learned in 2012 that the United States has been running an ‘Auschwitz-like’ facility in Afghanistan, AI remained silent, along with most of America’s mainstream news sources.

Unlike what AI purports, nobody has been held responsible for torture there in Doud or any other American hell-hole prisons where hidden people are being tortured daily. AI has not pressured for such accountability any more than Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or other American globalization leaders have.

Amnesty International-USA was exposed in 2012 as human rights front group for the Obama administration and imperialism with “Hillary Clinton at the helm.”

An example of this was when Suzanne Nossel, former assistant to Richard Holbrooke as UN Ambassador and Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Assistant for International Organization Affairs was selected Executive Director of AI USA. “In the discharge of her duties at the State Department, she diligently exploited human rights to benefit imperial ambitions. (U.S. running ‘Auschwitz-like’ facility in Afghanistan, Deborah Dupré) Even with Nossel’s resigning under pressure, however, AI remained embedded in the U.S. led war on terror.

AI’s silence about other U.S.-led atrocities around the world has not been in the best interest of Americans nor those suffering and dying from these hidden abuses.

“When the U.S. military has killed civilians in Iraq or Afghanistan or Libya, Amnesty International’s silence has often been deafening,” Roots in Action said today. “Urge Amnesty International to oppose killing by all sides.”

Amnesty International’s human rights fraud is nothing new. Even before 2012′s exposure, it was covertly promoting the U.S. war machine.

“Unfortunately, for Amnesty International, such double standards — and at times even outright propaganda for war — go back decades,” says RootsAction.

“AI promoted the babies-taken-from-incubators hoax that helped launch the 1991 U.S. war on Iraq. In current times, the same organization has promoted the pretense that the U.S./NATO occupation of Afghanistan is about women’s rights.”

“Groups like Amnesty oppose particular weapons, including the development of fully autonomous weapons (drones that fly themselves). But surely the human right not to be blown up does not vanish if the button is pushed by a person instead of an autonomous robot.”

RootsAction is urging all people of goodwill who support truth and human rights to expose and condemn the powerful so-called human rights organization Amnesty International.

“Join us in urging human rights groups to assertively expose and condemn all wartime violations of human rights — without downplaying or ignoring the violations committed by the U.S. government and its allies.”
