War is Already Underway...and it's Been Declared on You!

I’m not sure about you, but it feels like the world is on the cusp of all out war. President Putin decided it was fair game to start occupying Crimean airports last week. Now the US, UK and other world powers have stepped in to voice their disapproval. You can include Australia on that list, although Tony Abbott saying, ‘Stop it Vladimir’ is like using a sponge to stop a tsunami.

William Hague, the UK Foreign Secretary, has said that if Russia continues there will be ‘consequences’ and ‘costs’. President Obama even had a 90 minute phone call (on the red phone I’m guessing) with Putin, also warning of ‘serious repercussions’.

Meanwhile the other global superpower, China, has been decisively quiet. Except today Russia came out and said the Chinese are largely ‘in agreement‘ over Ukraine. Uh oh.

Make no mistake, if this goes the wrong way it will make Afghanistan and Iraq look like a schoolyard squabble. If this takes a turn for the worst we could be looking at the Fourth World War.

But I can hear you saying ‘Hang on a second…Fourth World War? Right now you probably think I can’t count. We had the First World War and the Second World War…but the Third World War?

That’s because most people don’t realize that the Third World War has been underway since the beginning of the internet. Granted, I call it World War D. Which stands for World War Digital. But it’s a true world war because it encompasses everyone and every country in the world.
