Why is America's ONLY Key Tool to Nuclear Warheads Being FedExed Across the Country?

Why is the United States government FedExing their only existing nuke tool – an obsolete wrench, that goes to America’s nuclear warheads, back and forth across the country to three different military bases? Because it’s the only one they have! After two Pentagon studies it has been discovered that as technology and time has passed since the Cold War our Department of Defense has been lax at maintaining our nuclear arsenal. With Russia heating up rhetoric on their own arsenal and talking-head Noam Chomsky warning of a coming nuke war let’s hope our country’s little wrench problem doesn’t get lost in the holiday mail rush.

According to the NY Times story,

“For example, while inspectors obsessed over whether every checklist and review of individual medical records was completed, they ignored huge problems, including aging blast doors over 60-year-old silos that would not seal shut and, in one case, the discovery that the crews that maintain the nation’s 450 intercontinental ballistic missiles had only a single wrench that could attach the nuclear warheads.

“They started FedExing the one tool” to three bases spread across the country, one official familiar with the contents of the reports said Thursday. No one had checked in years “to see if new tools were being made,” the official said.
